Looking at those pics, do you actually need a new swash to use the rear A/R bracket? Or are they just going to replace the ball in the rear socket with one that has a pin attached?

Good point. I wonder if they will offer just the ball and pin.

I just noticed that the frame appears to come with 2 styles of servo mounting stand offs. If you look at the flipped servos picture, the standoffs are noticeably longer to allow clearance for the bigger motors.

None of those pictures show any detail on the rear of the swash. I bet they changed it a little for the rear pin, it's probably got a little hole inset, like it does on the side, to glue your pin into.

It was instock and available this morning.

+1 it was when I looked (if it had been tomorrow [payday] I would have pressed buy) then was not 10 mins later

From the images the rear a/r pin looks an aluminium extension to the swash; not an extended ball screw and pin, also the spot on the side of the swash is a mouthing point for a/r pin or is the a/r pin removed as using the rear guide. I think they may have put some real thought into people upgrading; i.e. I can only afford the swash this month so I’ll get that and can use it right away (the a/r pin on my old swash is wearing away anyway), then next mouth I can get the main bearing hub (so I don’t have to think about the a/r pin wearing anymore, plus I get more control).

Yep I think they have been reading the HeliFreak forums very carefully on this!

First address a big weak point, the tail mount (hopefully they have increased the thickness/strength of the rear sides as well, if not you could still use RKH mount and sides or the RKH mount and Dylan’s sides), then correct a control and wear issue with the rear a/r, next reduce vibrations with dampers (I kind of think that RDLohr's mount would be the better solution, but have not had a vibe issue so not had to deal with that), then there is the reversed servo mounts (I missed that thread until people started speculating over what they hoped mh would do with the X frame); there are obvious advantages to the reversed servos and as for the straight servo links, all three servo’s are mounted at about the same height, just get two extra sets of servo links and just use the elevator links if you don’t want to modify servo links, of course it would be good if there was a straight servo link set available ( funny that people was trying to put bends into the elevator link at first to overcome the weak swash ball on the stock swash and now there is the need for all straight servo links ).

I think mh is on to a winner with these updates, I know I’m sold! now I just want to get my hands on them

Did anyone actually win the "beta" frames?

Would have thought the purpose was to get some analysis....seems they only wanted to generate hype.

i also noticed this.. it looks like the "reverse" option you have to use a straight servo arm to attatch all 3 servos to the swash.. pretty cool

excellent... I guess that pic of the frame with the swash in must be with a prototype swash, because it sure looks like an aluminium extension in that pic. That had me slightly worried because it would have meant the pin STILL wash; in line with the balls, and instead of interaction when pulling elevator, you'd have interaction with aileron instead.

That listing however shows that it's an extension, which will be perfect! plus I can keep my old swash... good job microheli!

Now I just need stock of everything! To upgrade existing frame and swash, I see that the following would be required:

Precision CNC Steel Ball w/Pin Sleeve set $2.99
Delrin Main Board Mount w/Damper $5.99
Aluminum Main Bearing Hub (for MH-MCPX005/B/X) $19.99
Aluminum Servo Mount set (for MH-MCPX005FX) $7.99
Aluminum 3mm Tail Boom Mount $7.99

so that's (excluding the swash pin, since you wouldn't get that with the frame anyway) $41.96

So really, you'd be better off buying the whole frame for $54.99 as I imagine you can sell the old one for a good $20... that main bearing hub is EXPENSIVE lol.

I'm in though - really like the features, and unlike a couple of others here I've had no problems with the tail frame design.

20 bucks should be what MH sells these things for. Bet they would sell way more.

It doesn't look like they can keep up with stock selling them at $50.

I'm sure that Dylan is already cutting MH style braces out of "real" carbon fiber.
And he'll probably be able to keep up with demand better.

And Dylan, if you're reading this...have you ever tried this stuff:

http://dragonplate.com/ecart/categories.asp?cID=27

I know its expensive, but I just wondered if its "all that".

I'm new to the mCPX crowd. A small question, what's the advantage of having the A/R guide in the rear of the frame?
