Default Bad DSMX Sat?

Hi good people.
This build is driving me crazy. I am converting an HK450 GT belt drive to FBL. My Ikon FBL system arrived in the mail yesterday. The DSMX sat (Spektrum) took several times to bind (LED solid on) to my DX7. When I go to TX settings in the software I get no rudder, Aileron full left, throttle only 50 percent and elevator no signal. So I disconnected the sat and hooked the jumpers from the Ikon to my old Orange receiver and it works. Could I have really gotten a bad satellite? Is it just my rotten luck? Does a higher power not want me to fly this thing? Should I toss this monster in the trash and take up basket weaving instead? Is it only me that has issues like this?

If you can, try plugging the sat into the orange receiver and binding. Then hook sat back to Ikon. I have to do that with my sat (but I use zyx fbl)

I'm sorry.
The Orange receiver does not have a sat plug. Plus it is DSM2. My TX has not been upgraded to DSMX but I have read that it should not be an issue. The DSMX sats are backwards compatible and bind to DSM2 without problems.
The Sat does bind but the channels are all screwed up. The sat LED goes solid and the IKON LED is green.
It's just so frustrating paying the full price for a name brand item and it does not work. I could have bought a knock off for half the price of the name brand item. Now I have to drive 2 hours to the shop I bought the sat from.

Oh yes. Followed to the letter. One servo, and such as no sub trims or anything.

Solved the problem.
The hobby shop guy said to bind it as a DSM2 sat in the IKON FBL software. Even though it is a DSMX sat the TX and IKON only see DSM2. I am so glad it works as it should.
Thanks a bunch.
