Default Should I replace my digital multimeter?

I've got a 10 year old Velleman DVM890F. Mine is old enough that it's in copycat Fluke yellow. I'm definitely a hobby user, not a professional. I talked a buddy into getting his first multimeter recently and it got me looking at some of the new offerings.

I wouldn't mind paying more for quality instrument and I can always default to Fluke, but $300+$400 for my use seems a bit much. Maybe someone here will convince me.

My uses right now are mostly R/C Heli related, in the past I've used my current one for a variety of hobby electronics projects. Measuring DC voltage up to 50V, continuity or resistance, small DC currents up to 10A etc.

I have occasionally wanted to do some home AC testing with it, (is this receptical live, etc) but I have forgotten whether my current DMM supports 120VAC and 240VAC. If the new model had great over load protection, I'd get more use out of it.

Any suggestions for the sweet spot in the current crop of DMMs? I use it enough that I could be talked into a $300 Fluke as a Christmas treat, but if I can get 90% of the features and protection, for $150 or less, I might prefer that. Accuracy down to a few mV would be nice, I could use this tool as the standard when evaluating other equipment.

Harbor freight...believe it or not has a very capable and very cheap meter. I think it's full retail price is 14.00 They often give it away with there purchase any item get this free. For rc hobby stuff it's been as accurate as my more expensive fluke.

You don't need to spend more than $180 for a FLUKE - here's what I would get if I was looking for a new one
