gyro creaping
Hi I'm having a problem with my gryo its a Jr G500T. On a blade 400. Here’s what its doing the noise is drifting left.
So I put it on the bench to check it out and I observed this after it initializes. It starts to creep right If I move the rudder right it goes left then after I center the rudder it slowly creeps all the way right. Any Ideas what would cause this? |

Did you try lowering your gain just a bit? I assume this is in HH mode? What does it do in RATE mode? If it still does it in RATE mode, you may have a tail servo about to go out on you.
You could also try by-passing the gyro (plug servo directly into rudder ch on rx) and see if it still drifts. That could help you pinpoint gyro from servo.

Adjust the sub-trim on the rudder channel until the servo doesn't drift.

Thanks sub trim has got me thinking, I did adjust the sub trim to get my servo arm 90deg.
But I did re initialize it, is the sub trim somehow adjusting the gyro? If so what do I center the arm with? I thought all I had to do was get my servo centered with the sub trim and then adjust the linkage back to the tail square and that would solve my slight left drifting. But now it’s worse.. You have to adjust the sub trim to stop the creep. Only way to adjust the servo center is use a different servo arm. Find a star arm, rotate it 90 degrees at a time, find the one thats centered and cut the rest off. Or use a wheel and drill a hole (thats better anyways because its stiffer)

Actually, adjust the sub trim first so you don't get any servo drift, or you will never get a stable hover in rate mode no matter what you do with the linkage rod.
