Default DX6i settings

I have gotten comfortable enough with my DX6i to bind it to my 120 SR, only have a couple flights on her, but it seems the reaction times of the sticks appear a little slower than the HD6DSM radio I have been using. I used the settings on the setup page and even with the advance setup mode the stick reaction time seems a little slow. OK now maybe I don't have enough time yet to make this determination but.....if I did want to speed up stick reaction time what settings need to be changed? I have followed all the setup procedures in the manual and on the recommended setting on this forum and even went back thru them to make sure they were set correctly. Now to be frank even though the settings match I do not know or understand what some of these terms mean and what each function does. Can anyone educate an old guy on these flight terms? Thanks in advance

Airshot,

Read "Understanding RC Helicopter Radios" page on the RCHelicopter Fun website.

I also HIGHLY recommend the eBook: "Getting The Most Out Of Your Blade mSR/X & 120SR" available on the same website. John Salt goes into great detail explaining how various Tx settings will affect your heli. He gives lots of examples and suggestions.

Best regards,

John

Perhaps …. try all DR settings to 100% and Expo to INH or even go to “-%“?
DR settings controls “travel of the servos”, and Expo controls “mid stick movements” which influence reaction time of the heli.
My DR/Expo settings were 80% and 15%. But now, mine set to 100% and INH.

Thanks 2005h4 that is the kind of info I am looking for....what does what. I do plan on downloading the Salt book, just have to find some time to do it then time to read it. With spring coming I have a done of things to take care of after winter, and the wife just had a hip replacement so the "honeydo" list is quite long.

120SR is a very basic trainer and does not lend itself well to being tossed around.

Post your DX6i settings and I can help you bump it up a bit.
