In other words, the limits didn't seem any different. Does this make sense?

o I also tried changing parameter B from Pro to Transmitter, and whew, what a difference! I had my tx d/r&expo to 100% and INHIBIT, which was too much for me. Instead of messing with it, I decided to go back to Pro mode and change one thing at a time.
Moving he balls outward would give you more cyclic range so i would think that would have helped your situation if you were range limited.

Not sure how you tried to photo the blades at their extremes. If you were in live flying mode, you can't tell anything. You should be able to tell the range in Step L but you would need to put a pitch gauge on.

I think almost everyone flies in TX mode. Just lower your rates and add some expo. Start with something like 70/30 and then move up from there.

I do think other people run out of range hence the term "collective management"

Hey, your reply really helped a lot - thank you!

I think that's the case. I flew three batteries today and it seemed to work well. I could not reproduce the problem, so yay!

Yea, I was in step L and measured the angle in the pics - identical. But as I said above, maybe the difference was reflected during flight in that the bx had more to work with. I was surprised that this didn't show up as a before/after difference in max angles on the bench.

I did this today and I like it better. 80/20 worked well (with no expo on the tail, though). For fun I tried 90/10 and it was a hot potato!

OK, this was important for me to hear. The first time I heard that expression was when learning to fly my mcpx, which has so little power that banging the collective results in tbo and crashes. I have to manage it less with my 450 Sport, but I thought that a powerhouse like the 500EFL would mean no management needed. Makes sense, though; we can always ask the heli to do more than it can.

Thanks again.
