Default Electric TD3 Prototype

Hi everyone,

I want to show you my version of an elcetric chasis for the D3

My options:

Space for motors from Pyro 700 to Scorpion 5020
Adjustable ger "width"
Original D3 "look like"
Batteries in the middle of the frames (changeing them without taking of the canopy)

Enough space for batterysize like 12s 5000mAh

At the moment I have the wooden prototype, because I wanted to check all the holes I drawed!
Next week I will mill the motor mount and a helical main gear (one with 96 and one with 100 teeth) for a more silent heli!

Raw weight without blades, but with canopy and:
Flybar Head
Plastic tail
G10 fin
Aluminium tail boom
Aluminium tail supports

are 2130g (without canopy 1950)

If I add my batteries (12s 3800mAh - 1200g), 3x swashplate servos, gyro (heavy GY611), tailservo, receiver batteriy (2s 1800mAh), receiver, scoprion 5020, jive 120, and some blades I will get a flightweight around 4700 gramm (without any other tuning, a heavy motor, and big receiver batterie)!!
I think that's not so bad, it's less than the nitro version and more powerfull together!

How do you like it? if you have any questions just ask me!

Best Regards

Dennis

Hi;

I put my batteries and a pyro 700 to their correct place + some weight for the rest rc, the cg looks perfect!

You still can move the batteries a bit and you would can move with the receiver batterie (if you use one), so different battery sizes from 3800 to 5000 should not be a problem!

Today I finished the drawings of the carbon parts, now they are ready for milling!

Best Regards
Dennis

That's fantastic.

If only Hirobo could be bothered.

Hello,

I did some testflights!

At the last flight my ESC (one of the first YGE 120HV, over 6 years old) failed and before I touched the ground the motor turned on aigain.. I got a shock and so the landig is a bit ruff..

I also flew it very soft until I can full trust my ESC.. I think I will give him an update to the latest version..

The music in video one was live.. sorry for that..
