Deep scratches won't come out easily, but light scratches will. Not sure what it's called in the States, but I know it as Brasso or Silvo. It is an amonia based very fine rubbing compound emulsion normally used to clean brass or silver. Put some on a soft cloth and rub the scratch until it polishes out. It takes a bit of elbow grease but works well. When I was a lot younger I used to make polymethyl methacrylate (plexiglass or perspex) surfboard necklaces, and used to steal my mother's Brasso to give the finished product a polish second to none!

Look into the Novus products. A Google search will find something local, or a place on-line you're comfortable with. I've been using it for years. Unless it's a real deep scratch, it works great.

I have used Future no wax floor polish on plastic model airplane and car glass parts with good results. It also works as a clear coat over painted finishes very well. It is just a clear acrylic that can be brushed or sprayed on. It self levels, but will run if applied too thick.
I even used it on a scratched watch crystal that turned out great.
Only thing I don't know is if it is fuel proof.
HW.
