I havent measured that ever. But as a rule of thumb have always been told , to check while mounting and tightening down the engine, that the clutch bell can spin freely with the motor off, without any problems.

are you dealing with an engagement or alignment issue?

A friend had a couple of hot starts and I think he may have worn out to much of his liner. He now has to throttle up higher then normal before it engages. I would like to check it out for him. If memory serves, it seems I used to use a 7/1000" clearance?
