Default devo 7 settings...PLEASE HELP.

I'm a noobie so please bare with me. I have been sear hang everywhere to try and find the right settings for my master cp. I have the manual it came with but everywhere I look it seems people are using different settings. For the most part I get how pitch and throttle curves work but in this TX under pitch curves it shows it as % instead of degrees...so I am a little confused. Can someone please she'd some light on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Pitch curves are always in a %, never degrees.

It is the percentage of the maximum mechanical travel of the servo.

You set the maximum travel of the servo based on how far the mechanical links can move before they bind up or interfere with other parts, this establishes the -100 to +100% of the travel distance.

You then set your pitch curves as a percentage of that maximum travel distance.

Thanks for the help...I guess I'm still a little confused. I understand what your saying about adjusting the servo travel but when i set the pitch curve how do I know what what degree equals what %. For example if I was trying to get -12% and +12% what would that equal out to be in %?? Also what is a decent starting point for the pitch curves. Not to wild but at the same time not to tame. I appreciate your help on this so thanks again.

If you are already competent at basic hovering, I would recomend keeping the pitch curve at FltNorm: L-20, M0, H+100, to spool up and take off. And Fltt1: -100,0,+100.
Throttle curves at FltNorm: L0,M80,H100 and Flt1: 100,80,100 and Flt2: 100,100,100

This is assuming you have your Heli properly set up and the servo travels are equalized. Watch any of the many setup videos to verify.

Once you have learned to hover and you are not going to slam the bird down into the ground when you panic, it's good to use a -100,0,+100 to fly around and only use FltNorm to spool up and take off. You will get used to the Heli climbing and the same position of the stick.

If you want to tame a micro down, use the DR/expo on the elev and aileron, not the throttle/pitch collective.

I always set my pitch curves with a gauge on the blades, I never look at the tx.

Helibeli
We are talking about the TX setting that controls how far the servos travel in relation to the collective stick.
It is adjustable electronically from -100% - 0 - +100% and can be setup differently for different flight modes.
