That 2.3g servo isn't going to help any.

The problem is the method to know the position of the servo.

I'd like to give these a try from Hobby King. Using a gear system with a real potentiometer instead of a swiper.

Yup. Can't stand the servos. Extremely difficult to maintain and service. I guess this is an inherent problem with tiny helicopters...too small. I have had fun, but losing interest quickly due to the above mentioned frustrations.

I wonder if these have the same bolt pattern so they fit the mCPX?

Next time I order from HK, I'll pick one up. At $3 it's worth a try.
I don't have high hopes though. Maybe I can rig something if it doesn't.

They just need cleaning and once you have done it properly with deoxit and also use the gold as a very thin cover your issues should be something of the past. Been 60+ flights since I've done that and still perfect.

I cleaned my servos for the first time back last summer, and that was the last time.

Mine (all 3) seem to be doing just fine. No shakes I can see.

There are a couple of things you can do to ease the pain. As previously mentioned, there's deoxit gold. This is a nice 'servo cleaning and protecting' kit:

http://www.amazon.com/Squeeze-Tube-K...9924495&sr=8-1

Use the cleaner first (red tube), then apply a thin coat of gold (gold tube).

The other thing, believe it or not, is to use a 'speficic' type of carbon fiber for the main shaft. I've been using the Great Planes stuff - specifically part number GPMR7790 - and when the swash rubs against it, it generates a fine dust that seems to be attracted to servos.

When I use this stuff from rcfoam:

http://www.rcfoam.com/product_info.p...522239f9d1f865

that doesn't happen as quickly. The rcfoam stuff has what almost looks like a 'clear coat' on it.

Interestingly enough, I found that thisis exactly the same stuff that is used on my (ebay) $3 training kit for the 450 I used to have. The 450 training kit came with 4 pieces of this cf, but only 2 were usable for main shafts(even close to straight). I got 9 main shafts from a $3 training kit. I'm good with that.

This is definitely as case of YMMV, lol.

If you check the 2.3g servo thread by Roffey, you'll find the answer...

The answer is that the stock 1.9g linears are designed to be 'on' and waiting for commands at all times. That's why they chatter. This is not typical servo behavior, and other servos (including the new 2.3g servo) just don't cut it on an mcpx.

Strange things can and probably will happen.
