Default motor in stock bird trials

ok so i installed the sonix 3500kv motor in a close to stock bird (see sig)
it has a nice sound to it and run nice

so i ran it up at a 85% curve for a min on the ground. checked temps (by feel)
ESC cold
batt bearly warm
motor bearly warm

did a idle up hover for 45 sec
check temps all the same

did a few punches and flips and standard stuff to load the motor.

check temps. esc bearly warm, bat was warm and motor was warm

i then bumped it up to a 90%
did the same motor loading came down with the same temps

bumped up to 95% same temps

got to 98% and still same temps couldnt doo much at 98% due to hit the batt time limit.

so what i exsperienced. motor has a cool sound to it. in that it lets u know it ready for some 3D. when at 85% when loading the motor i couldnt get it to bog. motor has great torque to it. has a quicker resopnse to loads.

it was even better as i uped the rpm % at 95 she was singing. could bearly get it to bog but i know im starving the motor with the stock 25A esc but so far im liking the performance gain.

so is this a good choice for motor replacement. yes a very goo upgrade. you gain performance and effecientcy. and for $23 you cant go wrong. now if you mount to the stock setup ie stock head you may wana use a 12T pinion to keep rpm lower than 3K
with a 12T it just under at 2995. the 13 gives 3200. needs a lil moding but not much
and well worth it.

yes

the b400 version comes with a hardend shaft made for the 400
and the swash has eflite size ball joints

if you get the other you will have to shave the stock shaft and change the upper ball links on the swash controll arms

its worth the 10 extra buck to get the b400 one

Default vid of the motor installed with stock esc

vid of the motor installed with stock esc

very nice upgrade from the stock. with a lil mod will fit in stock frame. works well with stock esc no heat issues. but of course its cold out. but i did let it run in the house at flat pitch at 98% for a few min and temps were warm.

in the vid all i did was load the rotor system to see how motor responded. had a fater response to rotor loads. i then went in to swash mix and raised it from 78-96 at first i thought it was 11 degrees when i got home i checked the pitch and was a lil over 12
and still did ok. when i pair it with a higher amp esc should be better. this motor is recommended to use a 30A or more so stock 25A is still starving the motor but not much.

so for $22 nice upgrade. i recommend getting a 12t pinion to keep below 3K rpm. with stock head
