You can use the Trex450 version that comes in pieces like the Beam version, pretty sure you will need to drill the plastic part, but just two holes each!Dont buy the all aluminum version, there to strong and will crack the frame in a hard landing(I know)!

I put gear from a Gaui 550 on mine. Big enough to be more stable but still fits in the Align case. I'm sure you could fit the T-Rex 500 gear on it too.

How about another landing gear update? Only one thing I don't like about the Beam. The crazy narrow landing gear! I worry big time about tip over. On my other Beam I have the EXI 500 gear (I thought it was the Gaui gear but the EXI 500 got that). On this second Beam I mounted up T-Rex 500 gear that I got on ebay for under $10.00. To make it easier to line everything up I pulled the bottom plate off the heli and clamped it to the gear. Then I just drilled and tapped the legs for 2mm bolts (you could use plain screws instead) The entire job took less than 15 minutes. Now it's 50% wider and longer. No more tipping!

Great solutions . . .
Love that custom fit of the 500's landing gear.
Some time back, I bought Gorilla Gear skids for my E4. Can't remember if I went a size up . . .but they worked fine and had more springy-ness to them.. |
