Watch out for ceramic bearings
Haven't flown since July been busy...
I remember reading somewhere a while back about ceramic bearings failing and taking out the motor. Well, I used some ceramics in my protos as I was planning on fitting it into a scale body which would limit my access to oiling the motor bearings. In july one of the bearings went and sure 'nuff, took out the motor. I got lucky it did not take the ESC out with it as well (flight 106). Anyway, I got my stretch bird back in the air-- finally installed a 13T pully. Found there was too much slack on the motor side belt-- could not slide the motor forward enough due to the stretch motor bracket, so I installed a 2nd idler pully on the other side. Seems to work, but only have 3 flights on her since then... Chief
