Default 690sx head assembly

ok guys Ive built 3 Mikado logo's and I'm building a new head since I just crashed my 690.

I've never had a problem centering the spindle in the head but this new head is giving nightmares. I've taken it apart and rebuilt 4 times now.
I assemble one side, slide spindle through and align dampers. I usually then use one grip to press all the dampers into the head, all but 2, one on each side. I have been assembling the other side and when I tighten the screws everything pops into place.

With the new head I can't seem to properly press one side of the dampers in all the way so one is slightly budging leaving the weight not centered and you get a vibration. Do I need to take a picture or was that clear?

Any advice?

I've found that once I purchased a press, it was one of those tools that I wonder how I ever got by without it. Just wish I had gone bigger!
