One more suggestion.

When you are gluing your battery trays together, use rubber bands to hold them together AND connect the tray to the frame while the CA sets to ensure that they mate perfectly later.

One of my battery trays fits perfectly. The other is very slightly skewed. I can get it on but I have to force it just a bit.

Concur with that, I did two that way, beware of CA getting any where near the main frames, a tiny dribble managed to get behind out of sight, a devil to separate but did so with no damage, maybe a little cling film to make sure.

I have now seen a few Kosmiks arc on the rack and pinion support during crashes and tip overs .

Last thing I want is for this too happen .

I cut up a piece of 3mm rubber mat ( 80mm x 55mm x 3mm ) and fitted it in between the bar above the aileron servos folds up over the Kosmiks connectors and I used a cable tie to hold it in place . it cant go anywhere and will protect the connectors from arcing on the support or frame , cut little L on the top corners for the zip tie to sit nicely.

(be careful not to over tighten the zip tie , just enough to hold in place )

Mine has not shown any tendency to get ground resonance, it just sits there spooling up or down. Unlike Banshee........

Unless we are talking upon landing with the retracts which apparently seems to be prone to tip over to the side.

Good to hear! Mine spools up and spools doen fine as well...i can see slight resonance on spool up just before take off....might be the angle of attack at that specific point. On spool down nothing to report but there is the slightest resonance which i controll with pitch.

Same here, no resonance issues whatsoever, normal skids here.

Thanks William

The tip overs i am referring to , are from the ground being to soft and one leg sinking into it and tipping over .

we have just had winter and the ground is very soft , I have had 4 or 5 close calls with the retract legs not having much of a footprint.

be careful guys , check out that spot to land before you take off.

I have had a couple of resonance issues around 800-1000 rpm , only because i had some positive pitch during mini auto's ,

land quickly before its gets to those RPMs and 0 pitch the sec you touch ground . if any resonance starts on landing , pull a little negative pitch and she gets back into line very quickly.

Finally got the batteries mounted nicely for easy canopy mounting, found the both batteries need to be move towards the rear.

Found some nice nonslip mat, very thin, batteries unable to slide around on this stuff.

Used some foam rubber, the harder sort used for Scorpion motor packing for example, this was used either side of the batteries to really stop them moving sideways.

Finally secured with Scotch packing tape, very strong, applied all my weight to compress the packs together and compress the rubber mat used earlier whilst taping up.

Have a look at Gecko tape if you can get some. Ever since i discovered it, I use it on all my batteries. Once compressed a bit it will not move and it is quite thin too.
