Default Starter wand?

Anyone know where I can find a 6mm starter wand, that clamps onto a Sullivan shaft? The only one I can find is the Sullivan one and it's $75!

I purchased one of these and drilled out for 6mm
Sullivan Products TigerDrive Starter Wand w/Adapter 7/32 SUL686

Then cut the T off of a T handle 6mm hex wrench: this item https://www.jbtoolsales.com/bondhus-...iver-t-handle/

I flattened a spot on the shaft of the Sullivan starter shaft to fasten the starter wand on solid, so that if I wished to use the cup it would still slide on smooth.

This works if you have a OWB on the heli start shaft, otherwise you'll need something like the Sullivan expensive wand that has a OWB in it.

Thanks for the tip. The sad thing is I'm a machinist by trade so I could make one from scratch in an hour or so, but i would rather buy one $20.

Wouldn't even take an hour unless you really wanted to get crafty. Yah, I could have just purchased 2 inches of 0.75 in round bar stock and drilled a 6-mm hole through and then drill and tap 4 additional holes for the grub screws, 2 for the shaft and and 2 more for the hex. Pretty simple, but time seems to be lacking this time of year.

Here's one from Tower Hobbies that has a OWB and fits into the rubber cup of the starter. $21.99 plus S&H.

Its nice so you can remove the wand when putting into a carrier bag or tool box.

Thanks for your help KS. I just made some time and made this really quick. I'm not the best at lathe work but this should work.

If I had made it, it would have hand a in one end so I could chuck it up in the drill press and a file would have been used to round the one end and a center marked. Then stud would have been removed and a 6-mm hole bored length wise, then the 4 holes would have been drilled and tapped for the shaft and hex retention. No lathe so you have to use what you have. :-)
