Default Logo XXtreme 480 - What Setup?

But, don't plan on trying to stuff a battery larger than 4000mah into the tray, as the heli starts to get a little nose heavy with a 4000mah pack because the size of the battery prevents setting the battery back past the pinion".

So regardless of what will fit or not, the weight of 4000+mah packs starts to get unmanageable for the CG. The video Kyle made which is contained in the other thread was made using a 4000mah pack, and weight on the tail was needed as it was to get CG.

It's a 400 class heli, and thus batteries need to sized appropriately. 3700/3800mah packs will probably be a "sweet spot" for the battery size with the heli, but we don't have any yet to try...so take that with a grain of salt.

Hi Dave,

Many thanks for your reply.. I do have a couple of 3750 Thunder Power 65C batteries.. They sound like they'd be perfect..

Best regards,
Anthony..

Minimum motor shaft length is about 20mm. A 23mm long shaft would work fine.

Note: The 4015 motor supplied has had the shaft shortened from the 32mm shown in the specs on Scorpion's site. It's a drop fit...don't have to shorten the shaft to keep it from protruding out the bottom of the pinion.

Hi Dave,

I've had a look and think I've found the other thread.. Many thanks for your contributions to all of our questions.

Best regards,
Anthony.

The Pyro 600 should fit under the canopy although I am not 100% sure, but it will attach to the motor mount.

As for gearing the Pyro uses a 6mm shaft and there are no 0.5 mod pinion that will fit 6mm shaft.

However the gear is the same as the Logo 500 so you maybe able to change the main gear to a 0.7mod or a 1.0mod so that you can use 6mm shaft pinions in these sizes.

Hi,

Any news on the Pyro 600-11 / 12 and appropriate mods required for gearing?

Cheers,
Anthony

You OFFICIALLY have this setup on your 480 XXtreme? If so, I'd LOVE to see some pictures of the finished build. That's fantastic news!

Hi abanihani,

Many thanks for the confirmation.

I have a Pyro 600-12 and Jive 100+ LV. am thinking to do a similar fit to you.

Can I ask was the Mod 0.7 main gear and 6mm 18 tooth pinion from the Logo 500 or 600?

I will like to order the parts when ordering the kit.

Any comments or help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Anthony.

Anthony,

Here are the links from a few pages back, but they were specifically chosen for the gearing on the Pyro 600-11...

MIK4318 Mikado 18 Tooth Herringbone Pinion, M0.7, dia. 6mm

MIK4094 Main Gear 153 Teeth, Modul 0.7

I hope this helps. Cheers!

that 18T M0.7 6mm pinion is a discontinued item, so they will go out of stock sometime in the future...

M1 gears with 12T or 13T is also an option. Overkill but has no disadvantages to M.7

FWIW, Kyle got some Gens Ace 6S 5000mah 45C packs for his Logo 700's, and just for the heck of it, did a "fit check" of one of the packs in his Logo 480.

Well, although as I've previously posted, the Gens Ace 4000mah "65C" packs Kyle had when he first got the machine made the heli nose heavy (requiring weight on the tail to balance), because the 65C packs wouldn't go under the pinion far enough back in the frames for balance.

But the 45C packs (although 5000mah vs. 4000mah), do in fact slide under the pinion...so you can get CG no problem with a 5000mah pack on the 480

The RTF weight of the heli with the 5000mah 45C pack is the same as with the 4000mah 65C pack with the weight on the tail. Thus the same performance on display in the debut video posted from the Orlando Heli Blowout can be had with a 5000mah pack on a 480 sized heli. Pretty cool! Loooong flights for as much performance as the machine has at that weight .

The machine is turning out to be even more versatile than we originally experienced.

There is no reason why you can't use the Logo 500 20mm boom and belt.

Yes I would say so, judging by the belt sizes it looks like that 500 boom and belt will stretch it by about 40mm,

Well I just saw that eRCMarket was showing 1 Red/Yellow kit with blades in stock. Not long ago they sent me an email with a 14% discount coupon. Guess what I just did?
