Class races only specific for stingrays? I'm sorry isn't that racist? I kill me....

Yeah, you can church it up by calling it jousting. Or refer to it as an impaling competition.

If you really wanted to complicate it, you could add small CO2 tanks, feeder, and barrel and have airsoft or paintball wars. Heli dogfighting?

Either one would make for a great spectator sport.

All joking aside, it would make for an excellent spectator sport.

Most folks like to watch them fly for a couple packs and then they want to chitchat.

A demo derby or heli dogfight would keep them interested for the duration.

If I were on an IRCHA planning team, the flight would be held at Knob Creek, KY and they'd be outfitted with tannerite. My tenure would be over before it started!

I think it would be incredible. That's a great idea actually.

Outfit it with an LED kit. It would be surreal once the tracers start flying. Would make for great video too.

1. Smoke generators on the ground to bring out the
2. Lasers for laser tag*
3. Choice of effects when heli gets tagged. One could get very creative, hit at sensor x could take out the tail, sensor y the motor, sensor z could trigger a small explosive charge/smoke charge and brown out.
4. Lots of wide open spaces. Don't want heli's hitting people or folks getting blinded by lasers.
5. Consider a pilot / fpv gunner duo. Gunner could have a servo mounted laser.

Otherwise just put maybe a couple of electronically fired shotgun shells?

I asked for a simple race and I end up getting carnage! LOL! Great ideas guys, Id still would love to see night-rigs doing 3D shows infront of a laser-light show dancing to music ad doing synchronized 3D stunts.

Do they make glow in the dark paintballs?

my dad always wanted to do something like that with planks, hook up the wings to spring loaded actuators and a servo with parachutes in them and have dog fights with bottle rockets and be able to flip a switch and poof there go the wings and fuselage with parachutes back to the ground.

I never have a problem flying FPV while standing up. I honestly thought I would when I first started but it doesn't phase me. I have no tendency to lean with the turn. Granted I don't fly really aggressive and I keep auto level on.

Jeez, Varc, you ask for a heli race, you KNOW you're going to get carnage.

It'd be fun no doubt, but I myself wouldn't ante up anything larger than a 450.

Actually, that reminds me of an image I saw recently. Somebody put a big ass motor on his 450... lol...
