Just got my new gear today going to test soon..

Different more heat resistant material..

I ordered 2 of them for the kits I have from a group order done in runryder but did not expect they are black colour already, well that will save me from have to boil them

I think the differences are as follows, but I'm not positive.

Stock Delrin
Pros: better coefficient of friction
Cons: expands with heat ( requiring a very loose starting gear mesh before it warms up) It will also melt.

New Nylon gear
Pros: doesn't expand as much, doesn't get soft/melt as easily ( can handle more powerful motors )
Cons: higher friction

So if you get the new main, the intermediate would look silly in white, right?

I am curious if this is the gear they blew on the Kontronik speed TDR at Rotor Live.

Actually isn't this a new intermediate gear and not a main gear?

I thought the intermediate gear is the one that overheated and melted not the main gear.

It's often misinterpreted.
Of course it is The intermediate gear.
Perhaps it needs while, that people get used to a two stage geared heli . . .

The intermediate gear totally stripped today.
It was at the end of a speed run, high up and far away, barely
made it to the field. Minimal damage.

Checked mesh yesterday, everything was fine. Motor was
very hot though.
So i guess it is time to mount the new one. Have one lying on the bench.

Was this the standard gear or the new one that stripped?

Luckily for me, I have a Gmauro gear to use
