Default pl8 max amp setting for combined power supplies

Hello I have the pl8 and I am setting the power settings in the software I have two server supplies that are 12volts supplying 24 volts combined my question is do I
combine the max amps out of each supply. Each supply can supply 47 amps output
max. Combined they are 94 amps so I would set the max amps at say 59 just below
the pl8 max input of 60 or are the amps not combined and I would set the max amps at say 46. I dont want to start charging until the basic paremiters are set. Thanks Jim

No, still 47A total. When you wire things in series (as yours are, for 24 V),the voltage increases, the current does not.

When you wire things in parallel (not what you're doing here), the current increases, the voltage does not.

Thanks? I really thought I could have set it for the full 60 amp capacity and would have toasted my supplies. Jim

Remember, the Powerlab only needs about 46 amps to completely max out charging 6s packs. Unless you are charge 7s, 8s, you won't need more current.

Doubt you would have toasted the power supplies. Sounds like you are using converted server power supplies. They have great protection and would have just shut down. That is why I love using them.
