There is a pretty big difference in 690 and 710s imo. The 690 will smack alot better and the bigger ones will be more floaty and auto alittle better. Ive tried both and o
Prefer the 690 for my style

610s on cyclic
650 on the tail (might try the Hyperion DH20X-GCD)

Edge 693s / 105s

Are any team pilots running a YGE GovMode w/ 500KV motor? What percentage/head speed are you flying at?

Also, can anyone confirm the kit does not include batt straps? If not, now long do they need to be? Assume you need 2 per side, correct?

This should be made into a sticky so people can reference it from time to time

No YGE here, but I am using four Scorpion 12" straps.

No gov here with a 500kv.. 100% flat.. Love it.. I believe Tony Whiteside is doing the same thing..
I'm using 4 straps.. Not sure of the brand.. I didn't want to use the Aligns, so my wife picked some straps up that are marketed for the rc car guys..

Yeah, its crazy, But not uncontrollable crazy.. LOL Of course the batteries I'm using have a bunch of flights on them, so they aren't the best.. Hopefully I'll have a few new packs next week. Right now I'm getting around 4 minute flights with between 20 and 30% left in the pack.. Its not near as ballistic as what I witnessed in the prototype testing.. I don't think I'd want any part of that!! haha

I'll have to look at that for you when I get home from work. Look for the response this afternoon.

Here you go:

Dial 1: 1.25 lines on the plus side past center
Dial 2: 1 line on the plus side past center
Dial 3: Just a tiny bit past 1 line on the plus side of center. Note that I did not adjust this until the tail bounced on stops. I adjusted it until the tail felt less soft.

I think this picture will show things better... it's difficult to get fractional increments on the dials.

It's a constant process. If you use different servos, blades, or run different head speeds these settings may not be ideal for you. Also note that I'm using an AR7200BX.

i'll be using the ar7200bx also. im using the cc ice2 120 esc and shooting for the same headpseeds you have posted. but im using the 713mm and 110mm. so it should get me close. and i know each persons setting will be tailored to each persons feel.

You're welcome! You may want to go with 115's on the tail. You're going to have a larger disk than me and I use 115's. I use this rule of thumb is larger disk, more tail. Slower head speeds, more tail. It's still in how you fly, but those rules seem to work for me.

I won't speak for Dodge, but who said lower HS? Lol! Let them machetes rip at 2200!!

But in all seriousness, are those 10mm enough that gain can't overcome?

I think I'll just run 115s on the tail always, even if going from 690 to 710s then. Is there a downside to running the largest tails possible?

id have to get a different pinion to get close to 2200. looks like im gonna be right at 2000 with the supplied pinion. from what ive read the trex 600 or 700 helical pinion will work so im sure there is a 13 or 14 out there that will work

I hear you, but if the forum goes like other forums people are going to be trying lower head speeds to get longer flight times, so ....

You know it really depends. I've never run 110's so I can't comment from experience. I would think that the proof would come in low or high head speed setups where a person uses quick collective bursts. I can tell you that with 105's and my head speeds the tail wasn't as solid as I'd like when I nailed collective. With 115's, it's as solid as I've ever seen.

im running 2200 with 105s and the tail holds great but do get the ocassional kick when im extreme with the pitch, but never even close to a blowout. im going to get some 110s soon.
