Default 7hv 1250 head w/vortex

I am going to run my 7hv at 1250 tomorrow and I am concerned about how to change gain settings on the rotor and tail. I am hoping maybe someone that sees this has experience with this set up and can give me some advice so i can start pretty close to where I need to be. I am running the vortex vx1e. Thanks in advance!

That look definitely exciting! I run mine at 1400, but was using Vbar. The feel to run such low HS in amazing...and mostly I got more then 7min flight time!

How much gain did you add to the head on the vbar?

Make sure that you anticipate the collective.

A friend let me fly his 6HV-U at very low RPM-it flew well, but the collective response was entirely different due to the low RPM.

I am guessing that you will be increasing any tail precomp as well (but that is a guess on my part.

I am very interested in your results, Chad.

I was running my 7hv on 1100rpm for over a year. Didn't make any changes to the head again.

But the tail gain need to be up to within the 85-95% range

Agree with Suthae...I had quite high head gain, but I encountered some wobble due to dampeners....try to use the blue one, non the stock lime green. Then, is all abt collective management as Ah Clem stated.
Surely you ll have fun!

cool, thanks for the advice guys. would have taken awhile to get from 30 to 85 just by normal tuning! Yes Ah, I did increase pre comp as well. I did go up to 13.5 on the pitch, should I go further?

Flights went great! Crazy that you had to go up so high on the tail gain. I was at 1250 and only raised the gains 10 each. Tail held really good but could probably go about 5 more. Tail is at 40 in the vortex but I'll try 45. Not as exciting to fly but more relaxing for sure. I think I'll keep it like this for awhile maybe even go a bit lower.

Are you running 12s governed at 1250? Or just 6s at full throttle?

7s governed.... the gov needs some tuning though. My buddy attached my test video on Facebook and I'm not sure how to share that here. If you search for me on Facebook you will see it....Chad Carlin.... maybe someone can give me advice on gov settings based of the sound. Wind and low head speed def don't go well together lol

I run mine on 6s at max throttle and it's alright but I bet its bogging down to 1000 rpm or so on hard collective. Maybe I will break apart one of my old 6s packs into 3 2s so I can add it in series for 8s.

Its normally a 14s bird so.... I might drop a tooth on the pinion and try 1150 next week and get even more time. I'm getting 6 min with 25% left now

Was using my Logo 600 10S at the time, just switch between 10 and 12S, very versatile.13T, was giving me 1400 at 100%, getting about 7 and half minute.

With my pitch at 13.5° I still had really good climb out. I could hear the gov yelling at me though lol

Sound of the blades is awesome, though! I watched the vid. Very cool stuff. It's a very different experience. Sort of another dimension to flying entirely. I enjoy it a good deal myself.
