Gaui X3 is quite a popular and well lauded model.

+1 to the X3. I have my eye on that one for sure.

You could get a Forza 450 EX kit with motor/ESC for around $400. Much nicer heli than the X3.

What I foresee happening over the next year or two is a death spiral where the previous model support being dropped will put people off buying new models which will cause even more models to be dropped until they exit the helicopter market entirely.

When it comes to R/C helicopters long term support factors large in purchasing decisions and this will be a huge red flag to prospective new customers.

Yeah, I agree with that. It's hard to imagine recommending a Raptor to somebody at this point. And not just the fact they've EOL'd so many helis and limited support, but the way they farted around for months and months, and came back with a promise to stop farting around in a few months.

I think this is just the dirty end of a business decision. I might feel TT is worth investing in--they may have bluer skies in other directions--but not in the form of buying their product.

I plan to take advantage of the E700 V2 upgrade deal since I own one of the discontinued models (E820). My E700 V2 will be getting a Steady 700 fuselage and a triple blade rotor head.

I own Minair products and still no word when parts might be back in productions.

So I bought a E700 because I had a Raptor 50 forever and still like their stuff.

I wonder how long that will last. Maybe I am jinxed and every brand will be gone the minute I pick it up.

As the saying goes, time will tell.

Thunder Tiger. Com still shows all the other models. Are they still releasing the 700 v3 with fuselage? Or the the 550 with three Blade head?

I spoke with Mike at HRP today. He clarified a few things that I'll recap in my own words. They have been bringing in stock for the helicopters. Thunder Tiger is still keeping some of the discontinued models on their website because some of their international distributors are still selling them until the supply runs out. The RC heli market has been waning mostly due to shifting interest in mutli-rotors.

Nitro heli demand has fallen off sharply in favor of electric models in all markets. Thunder Tiger is refocusing their resources into the product lines and markets that make the most business sense, since if they don't do that then business won't be sustainable.

Thunder Tiger is still going to support the helicopter and whatever parts supply issues you're experiencing will be remedied.

Mike said he will be at IRCHA and ready to answer any questions or concerns you have about HRP's and Thunder Tiger's commitment to supporting their current product line for quite some time. If you're not going to IRCHA or have pressing questions, call Mike or Cody Cook at HRP and pick their brains. They're both very nice and forthcoming about what's going on.

My TT model is staying put.

I wonder why TT doesn't open a USA branch? Many companies are doing that nowadays...Mikado, JR, MSH just to name a few. I also wonder if Nick Maxwell will be at IRCHA with the new E700 V3?

Hopefully the V3 has stronger gears. If they are going to focus on three helis they should fix the only problem that I know of. I heard that there were a couple stripped out tail gears in flight at XFC. I have only done it once but I don't like how the current gears are put together. You can't even tighten the autorotation gear without having it warp.

Will there be TT parts for sale at IRCHA?

Default Mini Titan v1

I thought the Mini Titan was a great heli. But for me my flying skills stink I depend on replacement parts too much. And not to say any heli is cheap to fix but about every crash I have had seems to cost me over 100.00 in parts. I wonder if the shortage will run up the cost if they get parts in. For myself I will be looking at other brands to swap all my electronics over. No sense having a heli no matter how good it is if you can't get parts for it. It was one of the best layouts for working on. I hope they can get it together.

I've had good luck finding parts for my MT. Between Ron Lund and Only Fine Helis seems to have pretty decent stock. AMain is clearing out stuff right now, so you can stock up on spares cheap.

this sucks. I hate when companies invest their resources into multi boring rotors/ Honestly multi rotors r lame if that's all there was I would fly planes or just quit. multi rotors r for people who couldn't fly collective pitch. personally I wont buy a heli from a company that supports quads. THEY R BORING AND STUPID

Better sell your Forza and raptors and hope Mikado doesn't go that way. They might just be trying to stay in business though.
