Huey Tail boom length?
Anyone have the length of the Huey tail boom without the kickup? Converting my Huey body onto my 230s but none of the local shops has a Huey tail boom so I have to cut one to length.
thanks, |

Have thought about actually using the longer boom and also the kick up, that has the objective of bringing the tail-rotor in line with the axis of the main blades, that suppose to work better because the forces are applied on the same axis.
Do try, I am interested in your results.

I had looked around trying to find what the correct length was but couldn't get an accurate measurement. What some do is just cut off the stock SR boom and glue the end cap onto that. Or you can also fabricate a boom out of an 8mm knitting needle, I do this anyway on the stock SR booms. They actually are a bit stronger than the supplied booms of the SR.
Cheaper too! At about $4 bucks for 2 needles!
