Default VOLTZ 4500mah 45C 708g

Anyone using these in there X5? I noticed the weight is about the same as the turnigy 4000mah 40c. was thinking would be nice having the extra 500mah at the same weight?

is 700 grams pushing it? have not flown my x5 yet, its winter out here in North Dakota and don't think the electronics would like the -10 Fahrenheit.

Thoughts..?

700g should be fine mate. The X5 will carry it no worries. My Hyps come in at 680ish. The dimensions would be the deciding factor.

VOLTZ have nothing to offer around the 4000mah range in 45C. so when I get some 4500mah I'll post back and let you guys know how they fit. Was more worried about the weight as I fly pretty hard and want the machine as light as I can get it..

Thanks for any input..

Have a look at the Kongs, probably the lightest i've seen. iirc about 540g for 4400 45c
Alot of the Gaui team had run 3800mah packs in various brands using the flybarred head. Yours being FBL should allow better mah consumption/flight time. With the smaller packs, a little over 4mins at 100% would be my guess.
But i;m super curious on the Voltz results. Seem like alot are very happy with them

yes, and the price of the Voltz are enticing... although it will be at least a month or more till I get to test them. thanks for the info on the kongs.. I will look in to them as well. the one thing I like about going with 45000's was I can also use them in my 550E and 700E
so , win win..

Same thought here for when I eventually upgrade to a 700 size electric. I've got the 4000mah 35C's from Voltz and I really like them, not a hard flyer though so I would never need that extra 10C

Back in the day, when I actually had a flying X5, I flew the Voltz 4200mAh pack....lol.

The 4200 fits PERFECTLY. I have zero strain to put the canopy on and it delivers really good headspeed for a 4min flight (2400 - 2500RPM governed). Weight is also perfect for CoG.

I am staying away from 35c or less as I seem to puff anything less then 40. Did I mention I fly hard. My 40C packs strain a bit on my 550E. I beat on it pretty hard though... 40c works great in the 700e though as its twice the voltage.

well I guess I will find out if the 4500's will fit as they will be here in a few days. cant fly them but can fit them to see, If they don't fit I will look at another brand, and use them on my 700E.

Ive tried a couple. trust me. I am hard on my stuff..You should see what I do to 25C packs in my 700E, It's funny, they go in square and come out round and mushy... a couple years ago when I was just starting out 35c was crazy. But now that I have spent a few hundred hours on the sim and worked my but off... the batts cant keep up.. so I went to 45C, I really am hard on my machines.

I think you will have a hard time with the canopy and the 4500 packs if using the gaui motor guard/frame stiffener.
I found with the stiffener and stock canopy, 135mm is max length of pack.

With out the guard I believe, you can go up to 145mm ish with out rubbing motor or canopy.

Just something to consider if you plan on the upgrade in the future.

Cheers,
Philie

I'm fine at management when I want to be. but some times I want to fly HARD. and sometimes my mood is SMOOOOOTH. just depends... I will try do some vids in the spring. only video I have is and old one from back when I only had about 6-8 months under my belt. this was a test flight so was not pushing very hard. but it shows where I was at 6-8 months.

Funny... I have 25C and 30C packs (old Hyperions and TopFuel) And they never puffed.

In this flight I used 25C and really, not much managament here... and today my packs arent puffed at all.

You're an awesome pilot Damian! Great flight. LOL at the mosquito at the end... you should have blown it into the spinning blades! Now THAT would have been a cool vid...

Dang! If this is truly 6-8mo of flying, hats off to you...incredible progress. Nice flying!
