Default The Right Batteries

Hi Guys,

Before I blow up or burn out my motor perhaps someone with more savvy than me could help please.

I have a Turnigy 1300kv motor 2-5s <23v

the ESC is a YEP 120a LV (2-6s) brushless speed controller with selectable SBEC.

will the speed controller push out more than 23v if I connect a 6s lipo . I am not sure about electrics, if I use the program card for the esc and select 5s lipo will that work or what, any help will be appreciated.

Thanking you in advance,

Ron.

If you connect a 6s lipo, you will get up to 25.2V, irrespective of what you set the ESC to. Only the SBEC regulates voltage, and that is only for electronics - the main speed controller is voltage in = voltage out.

Is this for a heli ? A bit unusual to see a 1300kV motor limited to to 5s.

Colin

Yes it is for a heli but since the last post I now have a 910kv. This is a Turnigy Ferrous loss inrunner ( 600/500) class heli rated 2s-8s from HobbyKing.

thanks for your reply.

Nigel.
