Danal, where is your RevLimit plug is connected to on AR7100R, is in AUX2 port? or do I have to have a Y to connect the SG and RevLimit both on Gear channel?

I got my GY611 connections this way:
rx1-4 to Rudd
rx,aux to gear 5.2v

I don't have a RevLimit separate from the 7100R. I am using the one that is built into the 7100R. It is internally connected to Channel 5 (Gear).

There is a dedicated connector for the RPM sensor. It is "flat" along the bottom of the receiver, where all the channel connectors are "upright" and "side-by-side".

There are actually three flat connectors. One for RPM sensor, one for the switch, and one for data/bind.

You do not need a "Y". The Revlimiter is connected internally. You may plug the SwitchGlo into either the 8V or 5V GEAR channel connector, depending on which SwitchGlo you have (they make 8V and 5V versions).

What rx packs are you guys running and how many flights you get before charge required? The 1100mah Align pack on there currently is on it's last legs so am buying a new pack just wondered what is gonna be best?

Hmm, nobody out there able to tell me what batteries they run on their setup?! Or is it just nobody reading this thread anymore?

I am looking at the flightpower Evo25 2500mah battery, would this be a good choice?

I just don't remember, cause I bought them a while ago.

I think I have a Spektrum 2xxxMah and an Outrage 3100Mah pack. I just watch the voltage on the "high" side and charge when required.

Danal, thanks. Will take a look at the size of the Outrage in comparison to the EVO25.

Hi guys. I have tried many of the options in this thread and am starting to lose hope. I am thinking I may need to try a different governor that will allow - values on the governor menu of my 9303. I any case I thought I would list my setup and see if anyone has any other ideas I can try. I am running an x9303 TX with the Align governor plugged into the gear channel. My 611 gyro gain is in AUX 2. My switch glow is on a Y harness in the gear channel. As stated earlier in the thread by Bob the Align gov. will only allow +% to operate which basically means my SG operates all the time. I have been trying to think of some mixing that could get me a work around for this. Anyone have anything similar with some success?

There HAS to be some ability to run the gov at one point where the SG is off, if you are to run them on the same channel. The only thing that I can think of is to put a reverser in the cable. That is, a "Y" harness with one leg plugged to a reverser, then the SG. This should allow you to switch the gov off and the SG on for starting.

Danal, I did try this today before I read your response and you are correct. A simpler reverser on the SG side of the Y allows me to run a - value in the governor menu of the 9303. On the hold switch I set -100% and that turns my SG on in hold only. Thanks for the help. Here I was looking for the complicated fix with multiple mix's and the simple fix didn't occur to me until today..

Ok I need some assistance with a DX7 setup using the Y harness on gear channel with a JR770 gyro. By setting the Gear switch to "gear" I lose the ability to access the Gyro menu on the DX7 to set remote gain for HH and rate..

Switchglow support could not help me we did get the switchglow to finally tone for me. but he said I was kinda on my own for getting the Gyro gains to work as he said he was a Futaba guy.

If gear end points are set to +100 -100 for the switchglow and I cannot get into the gyro sense menu anymore how on earth do I set up this gyro?

this seems a little rediculous why dont they just put a button on it like the Align 2 in1 and if you want you can use RX or the simple button press.
=/

someone please help me make this work. The gyro was perfectly setup now I have no idea how its going to work at all with no gain settings and not being able to set endpoints.

Switchglow seems like a neat idea.. but this is kinda ridiculous.

CeeveeSin,

I do not have a DX7 here at the house to reference but I think you can make it work with the settings you have described. The first thing I would do is go back to the way you had it with gear running your governor menu. Now this is were I need a DX7 to verify but if it allows you to set values for gear switch up/down the set the value you used for heading hold with the gear switch up. Usually +60 or so. Anything above +50 will get you in to HH mode. Set the down value low like +25 which will put the gyro in rate mode. Now if you put a reversing Y harness on the gear channel. Plug the gyro gain in the normal side and the switch glow in the reversed side, you should get the switch glow to come on only when you hit gear switch down taking the gyro to rate mode. This shouldn't be a big deal since most people fly in heading hold. So your start up sequence will be like this. Power up helo with gear switch up allowing gyro to initialize in heading hold mode. Flip gear switch down putting gyro in rate mode and switch glow should sound the tone. start helo with starter. After engine running switch gear switch back up to heading hold mode turning switch glow off and go fly. If I had a DX7 I would double check for you but give it a try and let me know if it works out for you.

For a 770, use gear endpoints. +numbers are gain in HH. - numbers are gain in rate. It is just that simple.

However...

I don't believe this will be compatible with the SG, unless you use an on-heli reverser (see a couple of posts back), and a large - endpoint (which you should never switch to while flying).

ok so if i set +63 that is the same as 63 gain on the sense menu?
thats what I was flying it on.
the other end point is still -100 so thats like 0 in rate?

yeh that would not be good to flip into lol =P

+63 is 63 in HH

-100 is 100 in rate.

Literally, + numbers are HH gain, and - numbers are rate gain. Simple.

I have an issue, the swichglow does not turn of when switched into idle up. I entered the mixes as listed in the second post, but the switchglow stays on whenever the gear switch is down. no matter how much I move the - side of gear around it always stays on. any ideas?

Look at the servo monitor screen for the gear channel. With gear switch down, does it move from left side (in normal) to right side when you switch to idle up?
