Phreak Out posted about this earlier and I think it's a great idea.

So here's mine to get things started:

1) Night Blades and T-Rex 250SE tail
2) Closeup
3) Right. You can see the oversized motor sticking out the bottom there.
4) Left
5) Align 35A ESC
6) XT60 connectors. The red thing is a step-down regulator

This was mine until I sold it.
It had a 10T pinion, Xtreme RC G10 fins, external tail motor wires, and a flipped heat sink. From time to time it had an orange canopy and BCP blades.

It flies well. Motor has a bit more torque than the tail can keep up with. It'll yaw right in a throttle punch, and you can hear the tail really working. Poor little tail blades. Doesn't really matter since no one flies in normal mode anyways. It's got loads of power though. It'll shoot up more than 50 feet from a hover in a collective punch. No tail drift, no bogging. Piro rate is good. more than 360/second, less than 720. Stops when I tell it to. Nice and crisp. It's got maybe 100g on the stock setup, but it doesn't seem to notice. It actually does better in the wind because of the weight and the higher head speed.

I haven't really had a chance to test it much yet because of exams. That and I lost the spacer for the main shaft after my cat pushed it off the shelf. I don't want to grind my frame too much. I'll post a video when everything is done.

That was a GMP Cricket that my brothers and I got decades ago (probably early 80's). It was gas powered and fixed pitch. Some say it was supposedly easy to fly, but the best we ever managed was to hippity-hop it a bit. Technology has come a long way since then. There are still some people who actually fly these things.

Here's a photo of my real SR.

Best SR hands down. Some crazy technology there. That 1 ball link does everything.

All-thumbs, that old cricket there is cool - looks like some carpenters and machinists got there to craft a good working heli. I saw a picture once of someone flying a clunky looking electric heli with actual cables hanging down connected to a 12V battery - like a jurassic era electric heli.

My SR sports a somewhat taped canopy. The blob on the left is part of a candlestick, on the table, not actually stuck to the canopy! On the boom is printed: "Warning: Inspect arrow for damage before each shot. Composite shaft. Made in Korea. TERMINATOR 6075" If I see a deer while flying, the heli will no doubt home on in.....

Thumbs up

Here's my current beastie; presently sporting the very splendid G10 HiVis fins, a set of HDX255-CFB CF blades, 10T pinion, and Align TREX 450 landing gear. Rx is a Walkera RX-2801 Pro. Love this thing.
