Just thought I would post up a warning on the tail blade grip bearings...
I just rescently purchased a T-REX 450 pro V2 super combo and during the build process I was fully aware from the other people who have posted up issues on those bearings so I took extra special care on the tail assembly. Even after assembly when i would move the slide and blade grip mechanics it felt very good and super free so I thought all was good ![]() I also went ahead and upgraded the flybarless unit to the new AR7200beastx reciever/flybarless combo and set it up as Ive done in the past with my other beastx unit and when I went to test fly it to make a long story short I couldnt seam to get the tail to act right. I had my dial#3 turned up all the way my parameter D set to the highest and my TX gains at 100% and still the tail felt real squishy. I then unhooked the tail servo and spooled it up and to my suprise at high speed the tail pitch was locked into place. I couldnt move it without worring that I was gonna break something and when it was not spinning it would actuate freely with no reistance at all. After I tore it all back down I found that one of the four tail blade grip bearings had a slight notchy feeling in it when pressure was applied to it sideways. So just thought I would share ![]() If your tail is acting wierd from the begining check those four bearings carefully they can be a real headache. Now I love this little 450 its a real hotrod right out of the box

Yup, once you have a new Align Pro kit is the first things to go through.
I had the same issue on mine, I got the tail slider locked in flight due to a notchy blade grip bearing.I disassemble the whole tail and inspected every single part. I change the faulty bearing, check it but some slop was going on inside the tail grips.I just used a drop of locktite to keep them in place (carefull, is some fluit is going on the bearing you have to change it).Since now all is smooth and tight.Hope it will last. Chris

i have 3 trex 450 pro v2's. I just built a brand new one last week. This morning my tail locked up . I have only 3 flights on it. I knew it right away after the tail felt mushy than eventually locked up. yes the bearings are poor, but the design is worst. the outer bearings is not sitting on any shafts. It is pressed against the hub and the screw causing premature failure.

I have a aluminum tail blade grip setup from my blade 450 that looks very similar as far as the geometry and the tail mechanics.
When I get back home this evening I'm gonna check it out and see if there is a possibility of using it to replace the original. The blade style tail blade grip uses a thrust bearing setup and I think if it works out it could be an improvement.

I put an Align tail grips on my 450 after a crash. Same problem. I have to order some more bearings. Using some Tarot bearings rights now. They are working. No play in the grips. But the bearings aren't of the highest quality.
