Is This Normal - Tail Rotor
I've set up my Trex 450L Dominator with a Futaba T7C.
The tail rotor moves in the correct directions but it goes full left/right with little stick movement. I barely move the rotor stick to the right and it's at full right rudder. I haven't come across travel adjustments in the set up procedure. Is this normal behavior? |

If it's not in HH then it's rate mode, if so make sure the tail blades are aligned with each other at zero input. If your travels/end points are 100% each way the tail slider should move equally left and right. If not, check and / or re-adjust your rudder limits and endpoints to full travel each way.

My setup procedure:
In rate mode, the tail servo arm should be 90* and the tail arm should be 90* with no rudder input and zero trim. The blades will have a little pitch, the amount is tuned by hovering in rate mode and doing push rod adjustments till basically the tail doesnt drift much in center rudder stick. Some people don't worry much about the rate mode tuning, since the gyro should take care of things in HH mode. Then you go on the bench and adjust the gyro limits so you get full travel without binding. |

I'll check into the Gyro limits, Rudder limits and end points. I'm sure the end points are at 100.

I would think your tail setup would be determined by the particular FBL controller you are using. You don't say which one you have, but I'd be following the FBL instructions.
At least with the FBL controllers I have used (BeastX and Vortex), you are not adjusting limits on the tail in the transmitter at all. The Align FBL controller may indeed be different, but I have no experience with it. |
