Anyone got any tips for settings that give good FFF? I'm having no luck with my 550eV2 she becomes a dolphin at high speeds.

I'm wondering why some have this problem? Did you setup with TH on and if so what's TH set for. By default spek is -5 and that would screw up initail setup.
I have 2 3GX and 2 3G and have no problems except for 3G 3.0
What's your settings? Post a TXT file

Im confused as to how TH has an affect on setup. Unable to post setting at the moment. I don't have access to my computer. I have however tried a wide variety of different settings to combat this issue. Flys really good in all other aspects just not in FFF

OK just went back to my DX7, I knew something messed me up once. I found if you bump the trainer flap it messes with the throttle / pitch. I bumped it a couple of clicks and at mid stick didn't say 50 in 50 out any more. Also check COG by holding by the head with the main shaft horizontal, you want ever so slight nose heavy, not where it want to fall nose down though. I noticed my 450 pro wanting to nose down comming out a hard stall turn and found I was placing the battery to far forward. to high of gain will also do it. Dolphin effect and the feeling of being robotic and ridged in flight.

I dont like the new set up.Have not even tried it.Tail was awsome.IMO.Have they fixed the problem where it cut the power to the motor.Mine likes to drop and sometimes it dont recover to quickly. The harder I fly it the more this happens no brown outs or blinking lights on receiver its the 3gx.Elevator issues as well. But yes very locked in and feel in tune.Really like previouse set up but some of it was just overkill. On off function I believe would have cured it including the back drift which I eventually rided that out.Just cant get the elev.gains high enouph with out bounce or oscilation.Clash.But hey sorry to gripe lol.Was hoping Id find an update.Took a brake for a while.

I'm tired of setting 3gx to make it right specially on elevator issues on my 450Pro. I can't get rid off Dolphin effect. From v1 to 1.1 to 1.2 to 2.0, elevator has still issues, tried everything like lowering and making the pot and software gains, also played Swashplate Normalization speed and Cyclic Pitch Compensation but it seems still no success.
Here are my comments:
v1 - solid tail, nice Flat piro, has dolphin effect
v1.1 - solid tail, nice Flat piro, has dolphin effect
v1.2 - solid tail, piro is not flat, has little dolphin effect
v2.0 - tail kick 30deg during pitch pump even torque comp value increase, nice Flat piro, has little dolphin effect.

No offense to Align but I ended up switching to BeastX and it all solves the problem!

I wonder why alot of people have that bobble or dolphin effect on 3GX? I have two, one is on a stock 450 Pro with just a china-made rotor head and it flies ok on FFF with either 345 Tarot blades or Align 325D Pros on all flight modes and on both v1.2 and v2.0 firmwares

could it be that some of you are running a lower/much higher headspeed?

Likes to drop?
Post TCs and PCs
Gains should be ok at 60 on the pots. Any higher and the unit will start to react to the
vibes all hellis have and cause drift, piros that drift and make the backwards drift worse.

Lookint to speed up the tail responce and piro rate?
Raise the rudder control rate 5 and / or and the rudder atv in the TX to 110. That will speed it up.

I hear ya, I think some people just don't get it. FFF no problems, dolphen effect, what's that?
Piro not flat, head geomerty off or to high of gain causing cyclic interaction.

Default Initializing

Can anyone tell me if is "normal" for the 3GX to not initialize properly (level the swash) upon power-up, each time? Sometimes when I power-up, the 3GX does not level the swash and I have to cycle it off and back on again.

Whats the bec volts, the 3GX needs 6 and sufficient power / amperage
What TX and sats or RX?
3GX needs a proper shut down and power up every time, TX on, 3GX on. 3GX, off TX off.
Make sure the TX has a few seconds to select open channels, keep the TX away from the 3GX and power up.

This happens to a lot of people. It's has happened to me twice out of about 100 power ups. I always check the swash is level on each power up now.

Is it possibly because the model has moved while the 3Gx is initialising? Could be because it's not on level ground, and wobbles when you take your hands off after connecting the battery; or could be because you start to put the canopy on before it's finished initialising.

SO its been out for a while. Im flying v1.2 and its solid. Is it worth the time upgrading to 2.0? I could care less about being able to program without laptop at the field. I want HARD evidence that it flys better or tail is better or gov is better. thanx
