Welcome to the Walkera Forum at HeliFreak!
Welcome all to our little corner of the world! Walkera may not be known as the leader in quality, they may not be known as the leader in innovative design, they may not be known at all to many (at least here in the States), but these helis are quickly gaining popularity here in the United States of America where RC enthusiasts are discovering how much fun they can be (especially at a their great price point!).
There seems to be more and more shops carrying Walkeras in the US every day! These shops seem to sell all the spare parts you would ever need: www.HeliDirect.com www.WowHobbies.com www.rotorfever.com www.ka-planes.com www.micro-flight.com (a.k.a. MIA Micro Flight) has some interesting hops such as a carbon frame kit. Though not in the US, www.ChineseJade.com has a very solid reputation and is strictly dedicated to the Walkera and some third party hop-ups. Last edited by Steve Joblin; 12-16-2008 at 01:24 PM.. |

Nice that this was added.
It appears to me that Walkera has addressed some of the radio issues, is this correct? I have not heard anyone complain, so far, about the 2.4 gig radios.

That seems to be the consensus.. the new 2.4 gHz systems being used on all the new Walkera models seems to be trouble free and as reliable as other 2.4 systems.

I have been flying a Hobby People "Mystery" (Walkera 59D, if I am not mistaken) for the last month or so.
So far the 2.4 g radio is very solid. I have installed LED's on the machine to try to get into night flying (the machine is very smooth and stable). I will post with regard to how it goes.

Excellent! Any chance you can include pics along with your update? You might want to start a new thread about it in the Walkera "Others" sub-forum (https://www.helifreak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=139)
Looking forward to hearing about it! |

Hi all. I'm new to HeliFreak and new to Helicopters altogether. I don't have a Walkera but do have a BlitzRCworks Air Hawk. I'm told it is a clone of the CB180? I have had it for 3 weeks now and it has flown very well at the hands of my instructor. Does anyone know if parts are interchangeable?

Can't say for sure, but if it is a clone, then most likely they are... note that some clones aren't really clones, but rather rebranded versions. For example, Helimax helicopters are made by Walkera... they are the same exact parts that come out of the same exact factory... one says Walkera and costs less, one says HeliMax and costs more (as it is targeted to US consumers).

Thats what I figured. But I do have a problem that doesn't make sense. When I first got it everything was great. I flew in 5-10mph wind without a hitch. Then it started to act up. We took it outside at temps of 30-40F with fully charged battery and it would not spool up. Bind went well had servo control but no throttle only an attempt to turn blade but just chattered. Took it back inside and after a few hours it spooled up and flew well in the heat. Any suggestions?

check and re-check all your connections... any chance you had moved the throttle trim when you were outside... that would prevent the heli from spooling up.

No. We flew it inside picked it up went outside and nothing but chattering and the mains trying to turn but nothing. Does it every time. I now have it at hover inside, a first for me. Now after 2 hours of this it won't spin the tail at full tilt. I noticed the top gear on the vertical shaft to the main gear is not making complete contact with the drive shaft gear. It seems to move up while spinning. Do I need more spacers?

Is there play in the main shaft? Is the lock collar fully seated on the top bearing? Is the Main Gear properly attached to the main shaft?
Most folks don't read this thread... I suggest you start a new thread clearly describing your problem in the main section of the Walkera Forum to get more people to read it and provide help. |

180ZPro
I recently returned to flying helis from my past experience in the late 70s. Bought a Walkera 180zpro and a Genius CP both of which I have throughly enjoyed. I new before buying the wind limitations of the Pro which I also assume means it does not like fast forward flight. My seems to nose into the ground anytime I try to fly it fast. Has anyone upgraded to the rotor head which will enable it to handle the wind?

waiting for ups with my new V400D02
Hello Everyone,
I have been reading some of the threads about the Walkera V400D02 heli and it seems I have made a good choice to buy this one. The cost was right and I have spare parts coming as well because I do not have much flight time, just on a simulator. Can someone send me a few links to a thread that would help get started. I have been reading the manual bur it really is not much help. Thanks for any info on this helicopter! Danny |

Don't be shy to buy any new Walkera heli, they are really good, 3 and 6-axis gyro are way better than what Blade do
My local LHS introduce me into that chinese brand 1 yrs ago
