Default best video setting

hi peeps

been using rf 3.5 but the video settings seems funny...chop frame

im using windows xp sp 2
2.4 GHz CPU
4 gb Ram
storage is no problem
video is BFG something something 256 mb Ram etc...ok video card
Apple 30" flat screen (im thinking the refresh rate that is the problem maybe?)

funny thing is if i edit the maps and delete almost everything the sim runs better...almost like my computer can't draw that fast with more objects...

anybody have a somewhat good quality video without the lag settings?

Default Something amiss here

That machine should not be having any problems running RealFlight. It is more than adequate.

I suspect something running in the background is hogging process cycles and memory. A real good program for correcting these kind of issues is called Advanced Uninstaller Pro. I love it and they have a demo version. >> Click Here<<

This thing will let you check out what memory hogs are starting and can fix many, many items that may be slowing you down. It actually works and is not hard to understand. Simple directions and lots of help.

Could you tell us what the "something something" is?

Also, if you running G3.5 in windowed mode then you could be pushing a little to hard on the graphics card. I don't know for sure since you left out which particular card it is. (Very important).... 2560x1600 is a lot of pixels for any graphics card. But if it is not a great one, then your shooting yourself in the foot.

You could also try turning off the shadows. What ever it is about G3, the shadows really suck down your FPS. More than any other high end game I have seen.

Could you also tell us which field you are flying at. Is it a 3D field, or a photofield??? Some of the ones with lots of trees can kill your FPS as well.

Your refresh rate should be fixed at 60Hz, as it is for all LCD's. It is possible that you have VSync enabled. But if you are able to acheive 60 fps, then that shouldn't be a problem anyways. And in most case, it would smooth out the action.

What fps are you achieving in what field in G3?????

An updated video driver will at most yeild 5-10 fps more or less. And that's if you have a really bad driver. Not all that common these days.

More info my good man
