Default 500E vibes

Managed to get a little spare time today so finally inspected the boom block. There did seem to be some slight burrs inside the boom block maybe indicating the boom is moving inside the boom block?

I also think that the screws holding the boom block are not gripping enough to the plastic hex bolts so I think I'll order a new boom block with metal hex bolts.

Also spooled it up minus the boom (but with boom block installed), I even had the boom struts still attached to the body but just hanging free at the other end.

So I was happy to see no vibes at all anywhere, couldn't see or feel any. Which I expected as I have put a new 500MX motor in, new metal bearing blocks and new main gear and OWB and new main shaft.

Also ordered some new bearings mainly for the tail hub. It is a new metal tail unit but might be handy to have some there just incase. (may also put new bearings on the belt drive gear inside the boom block)

So I'm getting confident the issue is the boom block. Will post back once I receive the new boom block with the metal hex bolts.

I may be too late, but you can buy the metal hex bolts seperatly and wrap tape around the boom block for a tighter fit.

What you really need is this:

Do yourself a big favor pin the boom into the block. I had the boom twisting inside the block causing issues.
I drilled, tapped it for a 3mm screw and installed a grub with some adhesive to retain it.

The 500E is belt drive. If he pins it he won't be able to adjust the belt.

Unless your saying to just use it as a lock screw and not actually drill through the boom.
