600N elevator response
Hey all.
I don't know if this is a Nitro vs Electric power thing but here is my problem. Tic tocs in the nose up orientation are very sluggish, nose down is very fast. I don't recall noticing any significant difference in speed between the two orientations on any of my electrics. My geometry, CG and mechanical setup is all good. The machine is a good flyer otherwise and has no other bad tendencies that I've noticed. It's setup with a Silverline on 6.0 and the old school 3g head running an EFL shaft and links (10mm lower than stock 3g height). Any thoughts guys? |

Eureka!!
Futaba S9451's on the cyclic are only rated @ 111oz-in at my operating voltage of 6v. My Savox 2274's on my Logo are rated @ 347oz-in @ 7.4v and I run them @ 8.2, I didn't even bother looking up my other servo's on my 700. Those Futaba's came on this bird and I suspect they were mediocre at best 30 years ago when they were actually relevant. What's the verdict here guys? 111oz-in too scrawny to throw my 600N around? |

It also needs more oomph from the main disc to perform a nose up tic-tock, you're moving the entire weight of the model, as opposed to just the tail when you're nose down.
Servos could be a factor, but headspeed, torque and motor power could be too. Electric motors typically have a lot more power available than nitro.

Well... I sort of know all that. I see you have two trex 600N's yourself... How's you're nose up tic-toc performance? I'm running an OS55HZ, what motor do you have?

I run the Align DS-610 for my swash servos.
They are not monsters (166 oz-in @ 6v) and they work great. I fly the Skookum SK-540 fbl and a YS 60SR |

I had a bad auto and tore up some servo gears. After cleaning my servo's, replacing the gears the problem seems to have gone away. I also upgraded to a Neo at the same time, but I had a silverline with 6.0 before so I doubt that had much to do with the issue.
