Default TDR maiden ( It flies )

I was only running about 1350-1400 rpm and it wasn't a long flight, but it flew

Couldn't have done it without you!

Yeah, I woke up at 4:00AM and got all my work done by about 1:00PM and then I got to play!!!!!

The link works for me. I'm not sure what the problem is. It's not much of a flight. I just lifted off from my back patio hovered a bit and landed. I can't fly something this size in my neighborhood. I was only running 24% throttle, but it seemed perfectly stable.

Got it working.
It needed a while and started suddenly in the background during reading your last post.

Congratulations. From the picture, the stock skids look much more stable than my Fusuno. Time to switch back to my stock ones.

A thought to the fusuno or similar skids.
I was considering something like this already 2 years ago, but decided against it.
Our field has an asphalt runway/helipad and coming down on an auto or something else the heli could get caught on the uneven asphalt and scrape the blade.
The good old round skids may give me some protection here. . .

Well tomorrow I have plans with my wife, and Friday it will be raining, but it is looking like this Saturday I'll get to fly it at the air field and shake it down a bit more.

Maybe I can get the Vinyl on the canopy between now and then

So, be careful!
Remember, I am on a camping trip up to Wednesday and can't send any parts for repair before Thursday morning. . .

I'm really looking forward to Saturday, and I appreciate the safety net, but I'm really hoping that I can make it though this weekend without anything catestrophic happening.

BTW there appears to be movement on my second kit so I hope to have an entire TDR kit worth of spare parts in the near future

That was only 24% throttle. I'm curious how the others throttle settings will sound.

Sounds like more RPM then mine at 1340.
Maybe a camera thing, but i would guess 1500 or so.

Would it matter if I have my throttle limits set to +/- 80 percent ?

Yes, first of all, it is not needed for anything (i even say it is bullsh*t, because the Jive see the throttle right) and second, you then have about 35-40% real throttle, i have 1340 RPM at 20% non-calibrated.
Depends on batery, Jive model and mode, but i am sure you spin more then you think.

OK, then I should probably put that back.

Jointer, is this based on jlog data you obtained or have you actually did an optical tach to see if there is a real correlation between uncalibrated Jive and actual HS. I have Jive in all my 7 helis and all of them are calibrated so I have no dead band at all but never actually know what my headspead is, I just go by Mr. Mel HS calculator to estimate how much throttle I need to program. This winter I bought a nice optical tach and will be checking if I am getting what I suppose to have. Have not maidened my TDR yet but have the helijive calibrated at 83% and plan on a flat 55% throttle for an aimed HS of 1400 rpm, I will see if they this is acurate.
