Default Is there a motor upgrade for the mQX

Hello all

I was just wondering whether there was an upgrade motor that would fit the mQX or is our only choice the stock ones.

The motors for the v959 will work with a little bit of soldering!

I know this an old thread but another tip is dont worry about using the correct rotation motor. I recently repaired an MQX using a wrong rotation motor, but just reversed the plug.
Flys perfect.

true on some motors... micro motor warehouse motors and some others are built for a specific rotation - they will run reversed, but won't last long...

Yeah it chews up the brushes and you run the risk of folding up the brush holder arm.

That can be a definite issue if running these little motors in the wrong direction. They aren't like the bigger motors with the nice brush hoods and solid brushes. Running them the wrong way can result in a lot of brush chatter and premature brush wear due to excessive arcing. So yes it will work in a pinch, but don't be surprised if the motor burns up quick, it might.

The other thing to think about is brush timing. Often, when motors run only one direction, the brushes are timed to get a little more power and/or speed in that direction vs. the other.

If it is a CW motor, it must turn that way, As stated above, the brushes will be destroyed.

Got some motors from Micro-Motor-Warehouse. Are you guys soldering the motor wires to the MQX plugs or changing the plug ends?
