Planted it into the ground at the ball diamond today. Was doing a high speed pass too close to the ground & she wobbled and............ Broke the usual suspects including my canopy again. Feather shaft, gear B400 skids, blades.... Argh!!

On another note no rush to fix it as I busted my 6i the other nite too. Came home after a few too many & decided it would be a good idea to hover the 120SR in the house. Dropped the tx & broke the trainer switch & the Idle up switch isn't right now either.

So it is being shipped to HH for repairs as I type this.

Friends don't let friends hover drunk!!!

I flew mine sideways into the side of a steel dumpster. All is well though. The dumpster lid was closed so I still have my SR (kit form) and the dumpster seems to have escaped unscathed.

The last week I removed the receiver and sold it for $25. The receiver shall find a new home in a small plane. I just couldn't see sinking any more $$ into it with the gyro all spastic and stuff- so basically it needed a new gyro plus some other crash repairs.

I must admit that I really enjoy my Blade 450s, but my SR had a limited interest span. I was never even comfortable enough with it to do a a pirouette but I'll do them all day with every other heli I own.

Maiden flight. Was all excited to fly it.

Ended up with a boom strike on the landing. Wrecked the boom, launched the tail motor about 10 feet, broke the tail motor mount, and did some nice damage to the blades.

I just laughed it off, went inside and ordered some parts.

Cant wait till my next flight!!!

I fly my $800 (at least) SR once a month now to see how much I have progressed flying other birds. Still can barely fly it well but can for whole battery wo landing and is still very trying. Great exercise in true concentration! Love coming back by this thread and seeing all the crashes. No other thread can compare! They have made millions on a plastic not-so-fantastic!

Have to be careful flying the SR after flying my other helis. Was doing an inverted punch out too low to the ground and didn't manage it too well, anyway it ended in the grass with a broken frame, CF blades and the other usual damage. It really is nice to get most of the crashes out of the way on the other helis.

Ordered a custom Fusuno Canopy. Got the first look photo (see photo) today. Also ordered an Xtreme Black/Gold Swashplate and Xtreme 235mm Blades.

The SR should be looking good soon!

B400 skids is probably one of the best mods I have done to the SR, makes for a nice big footprint. Canopy looks great, bet you are anxious to get it!!!

Got mine on eBay. $21.98 at valuerc. He has many for sale. Cheaper than MicroHeli. It's working great!! No issues so far. I don't forsee any issues either.

I didn't like the B400 skids as much as I thought. I, instead added these CP3 skids. It still has a wider stance, but the lines are straighter and I think they look much better.

I also painted the horizontal and vertical fins black to match the rest of what I have going on with the helicopter.

The new Fusuno Canopy is coming soon!!

Sorry about your crash, but I know the feeling....... Not to hyjack, but here is where I got my black Xtreme blades, sadly I haven't even mounted them yet. Been enjoying my carbon ones.

Spent a lot of the third battery inverted, figured I'd better save that for last. Happily my epoxied ball on the rotor head is holding. I've noticed having the SR near me upside down is much more of an event than having the mcpx near me inverted. Better than coffee to keep me perked up! Tho coffee is a better choice in the morning at the breakfast table admittedly.

Default First cold flying

Since the sun was shining and no wind to speak of I had to take the SR out to let her see what Michigan weather was like..lol. Didn't do too much other than just buzzing around in the back yard, but it did perform very well in the cold (32*). Looking forward to some more flight time outside this Winter but only if my wimpy body can handle it....... I really think this set of FRP carbon blades is one of the best mods I've done to it yet, just don't want to think about the crash cost versus the Xtreme's. That's my boring story for today and happy flying SR freaks!!
