Can't stress enough the importance of having upper part (50%-75%-100% of stick) of Normal and Idle-up curves (both throttle and pitch) exactly matched, so there is no transition at all from normal to idle-up and up in the air, otherwise the heli will either shoot-up or drop when switched from one to another...

That's precisely what's MI5 with a stock Esky Tx, an otherwise decent intermediate flier in my club does circuits with his Belt CP v2 in normal mode, has huge altitude hold problems when windy (which is most of the time in my place), all because he's afraid to engage idle-up. I let him hover once my TR450, and was flipping the idle-up on and off for him and he couldn't believe the lack of reaction from the heli, and wind resistance in idle-up afterwards.

Ok my readings are: -6,0,+6 all mid stick idle up. Can I get more pitch with the dx6i? Is there a setting to adjust?

Yes, it easy to do with the DX6i. Go to the swashmix screen in the first menu, go over the pitch setting, and try increasing the value by 5%. Eg. 65% would become 70%. Then check your pitch range again.

You also need to check there is no binding with the top of the washout base and bottom of rotor head at high stick, should be a gap about a hair's width.

Also check the swashplate doesn't bind with frame or bearing block at low stick.

When at High/Low stick, roll the AIL/ELEV stick around to the corners so you get full movement of the swash with no binding.

Should be able to squeeze +-9/10 on a belt as I recall. But it may bog the underpowered stock motor. Think I kept mine at +-9 because of it.

Thanks copter boy. There is no binding what so ever. Made damn sure when I rechecked everything today.
