Sullivan dynatron. Can use up to a 6S pack and will start just about anything. Turns over my regulated 91 size engines with ease, even on a cold start. Best 90 bucks I've ever spent!

I might give the Sullivan a try.
My Align starter has worked great for years but my new OS105 is killing my 4S lipo pretty quick.

When my Align self destructed I went with a Sulivan Dynatron as well. I found that with a 6S pack, if the engine was hydro locked, it would melt the switch contacts together, No damage to the engine, ( it did cause the one way on the Knight to slip a couple times, which sounds really bad!) but it was a bit awkward after pulling the starter out to get it to stop spinning!

So I went with a 5S pack and no more trouble. Now if I have a hydro locked engine, no more drama. The starter just stalls, then I clear the engine, then I fire it up.

Yes, I had to adapt the starter for heli use. Since my current ships have built in one way bearings in their starter shafts, I went the cheap route and just bought a basic JR clamp-on starter wand. The trickiest part to installing it was actually getting the stock starter cup off. I used an air impact wrench to get the nut loose, but I had to pull the starter apart to be able to unscrew the cup itself. Here's a pick of mine with it's crude but effective battery mount.

And here's a pic of the unit dis-assembled, after removal of the cup.

Hope this helps

Sullivan Dynatron here too.

I used a Thunder Tiger starter for a while, with success on .50 sized machines.

When I started flying .90s, the Dynatron on 24 volts was needed.

Great starter!

The TorqueMaster 180 HD will be MORE than enough..I use the TorqueMaster 90 with a 1600mAh 4S lipo..Started everything from a OS 37 to YS 120SR/OS 105HZ with it and it spins the big engines over SUPER easy. The lipo will last days without needing charged...

+1 on the Sullivan Dynatron.

If you wanna go all out get the Makita battery adapter for it for a really clean look.

That's what I use on my Dynatron starter. I already had makita batteries and charger so it was economical for me to use the adapter by Finer Edge. The setup works very, very well. I'm very pleased.
