Default Rebuild question

Hi guys,

Unfortunately the other day my 450 decided to rotovate the dirt at the local park

Cracked main frame, canopy, feathering/main shaft, blades, blade grips, yaddie yadda, worth of damage. Basically the whole heli apart from the electrics!!.

So off I trot down to the LHS to order my parts.

WRONG

I have just been informed by the LHS that the importer doesn't import 4503d parts anymore....bummer.

What I want to know is, can I transplant all my electrics, motor, servos... the lot, into a HK450 clone??. This is because if I were to get the Blade parts from overseas, by the time I get them here, incl shipping, it would be more than buying a HK450 kit. And if I cant get 450 3D parts anymore, whats the point

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Everything should work just fine just make sure your servos are still functioning. Lanny

Yeh, everything can be transferred no problem.

Just a few things to watch out for:

Looks like you had a rather hard crash. Check all the servos. Just move them with your hands. If you hear any clicking or feel unsmooth movement trash them (always use the same 3 servos on the cyclic).

As far as I can tell the HK450 is an align clone and they use a larger tail servo mount. So your blade tail servo won't fit in there. For example the Align DS520 servo will fit. I believe the size is called Mini (as to the Micro size used for the blade 450 tail) if you want a servo from a different brand.

Everything else should be fine.

Hope you get I the air again soon.

I don't know how long it takes parts to reach you, if you were to order parts from Ebay supplies that ship overseas? but I researched some of those clones and most people end up updating a good percentage of the clone with better parts, and that is where it gets time consuming figuring what is weak and what is the best replacement, and then again you may have to wait for the updated parts if they are not locally available. I am surprised that such a prosperous country like New Zealand does not have a supplier of Blade parts. Good luck I know there are many clone threads to get info from..

Thanks for the info guys.

Btw.....You can get Blade parts in New Zealand JACKATE11, everything but 450 3D :-(. The NZ supplier never imported the 450 3d kit, hence no parts or only what is compatible with the 400 and 450x, which HAS been imported .....strange

Many of the parts from the 450X are the same as the 450 3D. I know the main frame is as well as the whole tail, canopy, gears, mounts etc. Of course the main shaft and head is different. I would buy a beastX and just make it an X. The head is much simpler for future repairs.

There is a lot to be said for this

Alternatively if you want to keep your flybar our local blade boys here could be affordable enough (www.modelflight.com.au). I would have suggested miracle mart in the far east as well but they seem to be winding down on blade 450 parts. Don't know any other far east b450 parts dealers. You might have to deal with the US.
