Default Slop on swash inner ring ball links.

I am still building the bird. I just noticed that there is a substantial amount of slop with all 4 of the inner swash ring M3x8 Threaded Steel Balls (part 0109). The M3x21.2 Ball Links (part 0133-1) have substantial in/out and up/down slop to cause a 0.5 degree blade pitch change. The slop is similar for all 4 balls. There is also slop with the 3D Washout Links (Part 0869), but this is harder to quantify in terms of degrees change. The link that connects to the pitch arm ball link (part 0107) have no slop. When I turn the M3x65 Treaded Control Rod (part 121-4) around so the upper link is down, and the down link is up, there continues to be slop at the lower inner swash connection, and no slop at the upper pitch arm connection.

When measured with a caliper, the diameter of the pitch arm M3x6 Threaded Steel Balls (part 0107) is 4.81mm, and the diameter of the inner swash M3x8 Threaded Steel Balls (part 0109) is 4.74mm. The links feel tight and hold the Control Rod weight when connected to the blade grips ball link, but the links are loose and cannot hold the control rod weight when connected to the inner swash ball links.

Does anyone else have similar slop issues with the inner swash ball links? Could you verify and confirm slop with these inner swash links with your birds?

Mine has not seen flight yet. It seems like all four of my inner swash balls are a bit too small leading to slop on the washout links and control rod links. I'll call Jeff (MA) either tomorrow (Monday) or Tuesday to find a resolution to this issue.

I'll post a video of the issue when I get home tomorrow. Essentially, the metal balls diameter are too small for the plastic links.

I had that on a few of mine on a Furion 6 swash. I swapped them out for different length ones when adjusting the geometry for use with a vbar. Think I still have one left on that is a bit looser than the rest.

I talked to Chris at MA. He is going to test and send me 4 properly working inner swash threaded steel balls (part 0109). Can't beat the customer service at MA.

Here is the YouTube video. The slop is consistent with all 4 of the swash inner ring balls.



I have tried turning the links around, as well as tried spare links. All of the plastic links demonstrate slop on those balls.

I have also tried connecting the plastic balls currently connected to the inner swash balls on other balls (servo balls, tail balls, etc.) There is slop when connected to other balls.

The problem seems to be the balls (4.74mm diameter). All other balls throughout the helicopter are in the order of 4.81mm diameter.

Hey fellas I have a feathering shaft grippy made by align that's say 8&10mm but when I tried it on the whip 8mm was to small 10mm to big .. Is the whip 9mm? Cause I don't see a feathering shaft with 9mm?
