My Hybrid HIROBO SDX And SCEADU EX

I had a spare frame set for my Sceadu EX for sometime. It was gathering dust, so I decided to do a project I have wanted to do for a long time. I grafted the servo tray off a SDX to the carbon frame set of the Sceadu EX. I also converted it to 135 swash. I also put the new short head block on. Its running a os hyper 50 with hatori pipe. Its got hbl665 servos on the cyclic and a bls272 on the tail. Its got a bls276 on the throttle. I used a MSH Brain2 HD with switch powered with a thunderpower 2s 4000 pack. I needed the weight up front. Its got a switchglo pro triggered from my transmitter. I am using a spektrum backplate sensor and a mt300 Jeti temp probe. It controlled by a rex 6 receiver with my Jeti DS-16. Optiguard 430 backing it up. Check it out

Hi everyone,

Today I did my maiden flight on this heli. All went very uneventfullly. I was worried because my bench test showed a bit of interaction on the elevator to pitch, but I could not feel it at all. The default tail gain was too high, so I brought that down. The heli locked right in. I need to tune the gov just a bit, but other than that, it flew great on default settings. Since its nitro and I am using the gel tape that came with the Brain2, I was worried about vibes. The recorded vibes were all well inside the gray area. I feel very happy with how the heli showed up on the vibe screen in the wizard. I do have the futaba foam tape, but I dont think I need to at this time. The recorded data showed my headspeed stayed very consistent. I was worried because when I was watching the gov, it showed that it was going off and on, but not the case in flight. It was spot on and ran great on the gov. Overall, the setup and maiden using the Brain2 HD with a nitro was easy and flew very nice right out of the box. I am very happy having the heli run off the MSH Brain2.

Man! that is so classy. I bet it flies as good as it looks.

I had the regular plastic Sceadu Evo 50 and before I had been flying a Raptor 50 and an Ely.Q 50. So when I maidened the Sceadu I was amazed at how much more precise it was and so much more solid in a hover. But the cyclics were a bit slow - prob needed stiffer dampers, but lovely to fly.

Update: there was an update to the brain2 that corrected my interaction . The mechanical was perfect, it was in the software. Heli flies like a dream.
