Default Start shaft wearing out

Hi Gents,

Short story before I ask my question:

I started hearing a high pitched squeal when starting my motor. Dropped the engine and removed the clutch bell and noticed wearing on the starter shaft. It seems that the wear is limited to the area covered by the pinion and there's some light scoring on the shaft just at the top of the pinion thread (above the lower bearing block). I did also notice there was a bit more play/movement (2mm) on the clutch bell compared to when the heli was first setup

I fly a raptor 50 as well and know with the V1, flyers had the same problem. With the V2, they sorted it by including an additional pinion bearing (PV0669) that screws into the top end of the pinion centering the starter shaft. The raptor part is compatible with the ElyQ pinion, so I've modded by 50 XCE.

I also noticed that the portion of the shaft that slots into the oneway bearing also has a bit of scoring about 2/3 before the end of the shaft.

The question:

So when I was putting the clutch and motor back, I noticed that the one way bearing doesn't actually cover the clutch bell portion of the starter shaft completely. Can any of you please tell me whether I've built the starter shaft/clutch assembly wrong. I've checked the manual and the assembly and I cant see where or if I've gone wrong.

It seems that the scoring on the lower portion of the starter shaft is being caused because it doesn't slot completely into the oneway bearing.
