I don't know for sure but I do know that the Align Flybared heads do not fit. The align shafts have less space between the top bolt hole and the top of the shaft than AHF shafts do, so the head sits lower. I think you'd run into having more positive pitch than negative pitch issues with it... I can't be certain. But that is my experience with trying to put an Align Flybarred head.

Default FBL head for Aeo 50 3D

Hello,

The problem is pretty simple .. the cheapest choice is an AHF FBL-head for as little as 69 bucks ..

The problem is, the AHF-FBL-head is pretty badly made. The ones I had:

- had either very tinny linkages and the stronger ones were to short
- the swash driver delivered had a screw, that broke easely before starting (one set of nice Mav's FBL-blades gone R.I.P)
- the centre hub of this head often have a lots of play when installed on the main-shaft

So the first 2 points can be fixed easely by using some other parts, the latter can't be fixed that easely ..

Looking for alternatives, the RJX-head worked, but had some play too. I didn't want to buy some Align FBL-head neither. A buddy of mine installed the Mikado FBL-head on his Aeolus, with good results. The drawback is the cost, but on the other side the glass-fiber-plastic main-blade-grips will be pretty cheap when crashing.

Maybe Outrage FBL-heads and some other might work, never tested so maybe someone else can report on this?

Hope this helps, Best Regards,
Oliver

Maybe if you use the H60247 600DFC Main Shaft. It is used to make the dfc fit on the trex600 esp.
Not sure if the shaft will fit in the aeolus

Default upgrade

Hi,

Just to keep you guys upgraded.

The Mikado Logo 600 fbl-head won't work on the Aeolus, as the screw to fix the main-hub sitting on the main-shaft is located to high upwards. Sure, you can maybe shorten the main-shaft at its top-end, but won't be drop-in solution neither.

Meanwhile got an Outrage Velocity 50 fbl-head from a body .. and it works. You may need to adjust the linkages accordingly.

Best Regards,

Oliver

Default further upgrade ..

Hello again,

The Outrage Velocity-50 head works. You simply will need to find some linkage-s with the right length. I used the Mikado Logo-600 linkages with Quick-UK linkage rods (the long ones).

As I still have a Frenzy-50 FBL-head, I will try this out later too, hopefully it fits?

Best Regards,
Oliver

Im running the RJX head on mine.

Bought it off a friend who had it on his aeolus... Dont know if he did a whole lot of modifications. Seems to be bolt up n' go.

Default RJX fbl head

Hello,

That's correct, had an RJX fbl-head on mine too. Maybe the head improved, but the one I had, had some little play too. Comparing with the genuine AHF fbl-head, the RJX works good..

The Outrage fbl-head is IMO better than the one from RJX, no play at all and after some flights I can recommend the Outrage fbl-head as a good solution w/o any play at all.

There's still some Frenzy 50 fbl-head in my cave, anyway I don't trust to much, but experience is better than rumors or bad judging.. so I will have to test one day. Pricewise this wood be a winner, as for as little as 60 bucks you would be able to go fbl.

It would be pretty easy for AHF to make their fbl-head work. Just 2 slits in the botton centre-hub and by 2 M3 screws making tolerances of the bore disappear ? Second the swash driver to be improved as well and done? Come on AHF, don't tell me I'm the only guy getting bed fbl-heads?

Best Regards,
Oliver

I use the ahf fbl head with the align mixing arms. I also drilled out the main shaft and main bolt hole to M4. (Used an M4 bolt and nut for better bite.) Others have recommended sawing the small slit in the head a little further to also get more bite. I'm yet to do that last mod
and the Heli is flying well.
