Default Double BL problems.

Sorry for asking cause I know it's in here somewhere but I'm having trouble finding it. Two problems. Firstly, I set up my xp3a tail temporarily and it ran fine. Now, after I wired my xp12a main and spin 16k motor, the tail doesn't do anything. Perhaps it's linked to my second problem. My main motor arms like the other xp12a I have, but when it starts to spool, it lasts for about two seconds and stops. It's like this in normal and IU mode. If you leave it in IU or any thing over zero throttle in normal mode it will pulse these 2 second spool ups. I'm pretty sure I've read about this but I cant find it and I need help.

Also, for the tail signal wire does it matter which side of the resistor you're on?

And try turning the startup acceleration up on the main ESC. Seems that some motor/ESC/battery combo's have trouble starting, sometimes. I get 100% reliable starts with Hyperion 550's, but have a fault every so often with Gens Ace 500's, no idea why...

There is a rather detailed explanation of this (hard sasrting) on RC Groups in the Scorpion Thread. Miller's explanation was that since the Scorpion motors have such high strength magnets they require a faster ramp up of the intial starting current and that Scorpion ESC provide such automaticly.

I have many Scorpion motors, on on my Blade 400 ( hanger queen) and in numerious fixed wing planes from 400 watts to just over 1,000. I use to use CC ESC and they had an extremly difficult time starting the Scorpions no matter what ver. of firmware or what seting I used. I finally go the ones in the Blade to play well together but gave up and went to Suppo ESCs in all of my planes and they work well as long as I bump the throttle from off to aprox. 15%. If I ease the throttle the motor stutters and try to start backwars. Once I had the hard brake set and after a stll turn with power off the motor started backward a quick blip to off and then a puch and it started correctly. I landed and disabled the barke, once was exciting enough as that was in my 3D HS Extra 300 which happends to be my favorite plank.

I'm really worried that I'm getting no reaction at all out of the tail. Should I hear two distinct beeps when I power up from both ESCs? What kind of multimeter reading should you get at the signal thru different throttle ranges?

Yes you will hear 2 distinctive beep sounds from each motor in unison when powering up.

Ok, some good news. Cleaned the trace for the tail and got it running! Still having the spool pulses for the main though. Tried increasing the startup acceleration from .4 to 1.0 as Dylan suggested to no avail. In idle up, I did get it to spool up twice. This
Happened only after leaving it in IU for at least a minute with about 10 of these pulses before it. Any other ideas? I'm going to search the threads again. Thanks for the help thus far!!

Every pulse and shut down for me were with the stock batteries, and another reason was to much I guess the word I'm looking for is to much amperage mine still did it with a brushless main and a brushed tail, then I went double brushless and all is good.
