Assuming the rubber is in good condition just remove it carefully & reasonably slowly. It's easier if everything is warm as well so the rubber isn't too stiff. I "wiggled" mine by working the old nipple in a slightly circular motion whilst pulling on it.

Thanks!
Decided to do flybarless conversion after some time, got VCTRC FBL head and Brain (first version). What else do I need, wire for Brain governor?
Ditch Align governor, 2 in 1 regulator..? What would be the best affordable setup and most reliable? Running LiFe pack directly?

LiFe direct or in my case a LiPo and BEC.

Life direct into Brain unit..? What connectors to use. And how to connect Align RPM sensor to Brain, I have first gen unit.
So, in my case I take out - standard RX, gyro, Align governor and then mount Brain unit with 2 Lemon DSMX sats, then attach Align RPM sensor. And what tape better for nitro, will 3M be ok?

3M gray tape works fine on nitros. I tried other tape and it led to odd things happening because it allowed the flybarless unit to move. I switched it out with 3M gray tape and all my problems went away. All the fbl units on all my helis, and all my friends helis are mounted with 3M gray on all electrics and nitros.

To hook the Align magnetic sensor to the Brain 1, plug it directly into the Brain's gov port on the side.
The Brain uses the same micro-JST plug as the Align sensor
You may have to swap the red / black wires

If you have a different RPM sensor, then you need the adapter:
https://www.mshusa.com/collections/b...nor-cable-90mm

I use the Futaba gyro pad on my Trex 600N and 700N.

On my two nitro helis, the Futaba gyro pads were the difference between Rescue working predictably and "crashing".
If Rescue is not important, then use any good quality gyro mounting tape.

For all your Brain questions, look at the MSH Brain forum on HF.

There are two align rpm sensors with different connectors. I'm having trouble finding the older one but this one has the end you're talking'll about.

https://www.amainhobbies.com/align-b...gbp001/p505962

The older ones had a standard servo lead like this

This is the adapter cable

Thanks! Now I'm converting to FBL shall mixing arms be parallel swashplate when at zero with Brain setup? At least it seems logical to me shall I change main shaft to shorter one?

Doesn't really matter. They do not affect the pitch, all they do is drive the swash. As long as you have 0 pitch at mid stick it's all good.

Yep, just move the swash to the limits and check for binding or the possibility of an arm camming over, and if not, you're good to go.

Yes, use the short shaft. Also use the 2.5mm linkage rod set with the heavy duty ball links.

Thanks.
Could someone point me to the short main shaft and 2.5mm linkage rod set with the heavy duty ball links?
And what throttle curve should I use in normal mode to set up the carburetor?

Linear 0 ..... 100.

Set throttle in Tx to show 0 to 100 in panel 5. Then use Min and Max in the Gov panel to get the correct travel.

I am wondering about the ball links, can you use 700 balls or is there special 5mm balls you need to order for fbl??
