Default xl pro rotor head on stratus question

what is the proper way to install and secure the swash follower pins? thanks
u know the two metal pins that go into the main head block that keeps the wash out arms in line with the head and the swash as they turn?

On the really old models, it was a friction fit pin. Simply push it through. On our newer models, we've gone to a captured pin style. It has a "head" on one end, and uses an "e" clip on the other.

Hmm, Ok, I think maybe you have some of your terminology incorrect. This dowel pin has nothing to do with the washout block, or anything from the washout assembly. The MA0840-6 dowel pin is used to hold the main rotor head block to the main shaft. The MA0840-6 goes into the head, through the hole in the main shaft, and is held in place by a small set screw.

Look at page 108 in the manual below:

I think geomecc is talking about the two pins that come down from the head block and pass through the holes in the washout hub to stop it rotating on the shaft. I would have thought they are just a press fit?

Ah, well then its definately not the 0840-6 that is used there. Those pins are a press fit. We have a jig for proper alignment, and we use a press to install them.
