i'm with you guys, the BSR is a ball to fly!! in my opinion there was 3 big problems with the BSR, swashplate, tail motor and poor setup. i converted the entire head to MicroHeli parts, polished the main shaft, found and installed a brushless DDVP tail setup and put Kyosho isolation tape under the gyro and spent some time setting the heli mechanics so they were as correct as i could get them.

i love to fly the heli, every weekend i take it out, are there better helis out there yep! but the BSR was a special project for me, i wanted to prove to myself that it could be made to fly right, plus i like flybar helis.....flybars just seem "normal" to me, the flybarless helis have some strange tendencies when taking off sometimes

Has anyone seen the new Blade 220, or 230??
The frame boom look very similar to the SR...wonder if there are any adaptable parts like tail motor/boom/ESC???

The Blade 230 S.......Wow! Looks like a nice bird. Dual brushless, metal gear servos, SAFE technology with self leveling and panic button, flybarless. What else could you ask for on a trainer CP heli.

I know right! I'm pretty interested in this bird myself....very interested in some of the parts that are on it also....
i was thinking tonight that it would be cool to have an SR stock, then one with the belt, and the other (if this tail would work with an SR) with the BL tail motor on it...hell even this 230S sitting in the line with em! LOL

"180CFX is an advanced heli focused on aggressive 3D. 230S is an intermediate machine intended to be a good first collective pitch helicopter. It takes the place of the old BLADE SR, and in fact is based on the same platform, but with serious improvements.

The 230S turned out to have a much broader flight envelope than we initially thought it would. For the beginning CP pilot, SAFE makes it easier to fly than the SR, similar to the 200SRX. For the more advanced pilot, the 230S is capable of much more than the SR ever was.

The DXE is a new platform that will eventually replace the DX4e and DX5e. Full size, lots of expandability at the manufacturing stage so we will be able to use it for various RTF product. Yes there will be programming options through external device connections ( PC or tablet/smartphone I don't know)"................."quote-Dave Eichstedt"

Sounds like it will be a pretty nice little heli. There is a discussion about it on RCG with a video. It's basically a CP version of the 200SRX.

I may have to check that heli out, it would kinda be cool to fly the SR as it maybe should have been, don't get me wrong am glad the SR was what it was, but lots of people don't agree with that. I think it made me a more patient pilot, and learned to be smoother on the sticks.

I agree with u 100℅. I learned ait with the SR but things were a lot harder than they had to be. In the long run I am a better pilot. But the SR was supposed to be a beginner CP heli and a lot of beginners probably gave up a bit early cause they had such a hard time with it. There are only a few of us that appreciate the SR for what it is. And probably even less that stuck with it and still fly the SR.

Now with that said, I would still love to try out this new Blade 230S. Seems like it will be a pretty cool heli.

Well, I guess that makes 3 of us. Might have to hit the pre-order button. I really don't need another trainer heli for me but it sure will be fun to fly. Dbl brushless, metal gear servos, flybarless.....
It's very tempting!

Come to think of it, it would be a nice heli to teach my brother to fly CP on.

It's all your fault, Nighttrain. I believe you brought up the topic of the 230S. Lol.

The S stands for sexy....lol
Well I can't be alone in this, but I'm gonna wait a bit before I get one....
It'll be high on my list though.

Same here. I just ordered a HK 250 kit. I have so many extra parts I figured I could build a nice 250 size heli with a belt drive tail. If I would have seen the Blade 230S first, I would have already ordered one. But I think the 230S will be my next heli. You can never have too many, right!

I guess it takes lots and lots of practice. You can hear that tail motor working its little ass off to keep up. When I saw the video I was surprised at how well it did 3d and how stable it was. I wonder if the panic button works during 3d agility mode?

I think I remember somewhere reading about the differnt modes and what works, think panic only works on intermediate could be wrong though

Have you seen the new Ares Optim 300 CP? It is also a 3d trainer. It has a 6 axis/3 axis fbl controller, auto invert switch, self leveling (upright and inverted), brushless main motor and a belt drive tail. Seems like a decent heli, except I don't know much about Ares brand products. Don't know how reliable it would be.

Seems to be a nice little heli, don't know why I've not heard of it before ????

I normally tend to only go inverted just before I crash !!

Maybe this would make a nice trainer
